@LoneSpeedsterDX this is why i love Super Sonic mode in Sonic Colors Wii with how it disables wisps and alters level design to accomodate no wisp powers. It really shows you how well the game stands on its own merit without Wisps in play.

showcasing this in case I’m given the “GIT GUD” card because I can’t say I didn’t try to learn how this game works a lot of the level design is just too gimmicky for me to really care for it, and the Wii version has much stronger movement anyway

finished a replay of Sonic Colors DS and yup it was pretty mediocre Admittedly I didn’t dislike it as much as I used to. The airboost surprisingly is able to substitute for quite a bit of what the old trick system offered, but everything is bleh

@PersonthePerso2 this pikachu is cute so i dont think using something designed to appeal to the cute factor (which is easier to do for a myriad of reasons) isnt the perfect counter point when someone is talking about "sonic not appealing because he's not *cool* enough" ur original point is good

this is probably me being tryhard sweat status but a lot of people just like to play the sonic game and feel it out and learn through memorization but my nigga crack open an atlas map or similar and watch your mind expand.

one trick i've carried through my life in regards to sonic games is always look at the atlas of a zone if possible because its actually INSANE what a difference that makes in regards to being able to break down a level and all the good/bad things about it

@supertman1228 I dunno mang cuz like this is the 5th zone lol. It's the penultimate zone in S3 itself so it feels shallow especially coming off of carnival night and marble lol. Like i think its fine from a similar perspective of triggering a pacing shift as you transition to the final zone

I always hear people accuse Sonic 3 & Knuckles of being more of a cinematic game than one you have control over, and they point to Ice Cap Act 1 as one of the prime examples But idk, there's way more freedom to express yourself than you would think, even without wall glitches

Sorry guys I have been told this run is completely invalid because I'm playing on an emulator and you can't float over The Jump by spamming those two special weapons on real hardware😢

X games are also fun when you do shit that could easily be done by playing normally/carefuly but you'd rather play like a meth head, especially with self imposed challenges. The Jump™️ is harder with Shadow X if you're wondering

After much debate I believe I’ve made a solid tier list on my opinions on the mainline games I tried to consider things like the impact of story, music, and gameplay equally They’re also ranked within themselves, for example I’d much rather replay Frontiers than Black Knight

Are Sonic tier lists the in thing on Twitter right now? I've seen 3 of them, so they must be! Individual games aren't particularly ordered, and a few are just there in the interest of saving space between rows, but by and large it's accurate to how I feel since last playing them
