@gmptraffic I think cars like this should be seized, new log book ordered & plates fitted by Police garage & off to auction. 87 in 30 should be prison sentence. Those cars in front are going a lot slower & in danger!
English

@AndrewRD500 Indeed Andy. Complacency about what could occur definitely a factor in may cases too...
English

@gmptraffic Desperate to be seen, noticed and acknowledged. Quite sad really.
English

@RealismHelps Every road user has a differing perception to speed - fact! What is deemed acceptable & what isn't is a conversation that needs to be held between the community who live in an area & the local authority. We use data from various sources when responding to complaints of speeding
English

@gmptraffic No you don't, but you do deploy resource to areas where the limits are patently ridiculous. no-one in this thread has portrayed 87/30 as acceptable either - thought you guys relied upon facts?
English

@McauleyMetals Pretty much. Each unit will still maintain it's own mission profile and individuality but collectively, all staff previously affiliated to Safer Transport Team (part of Spec Ops) will be duly designated as Transport Policing & Crime Command officers, moving forwards.
English

@gmptraffic Ah I see! I heard of Traffic PCSO’s but not of Transport PCSO’s I get it now. So it’s going to be Transport RPU, Transport Motorcycle Unit, Transport PCSOs etc?
English

@OnTheBeach1932 @McauleyMetals Appreciate the point you make John but times have changed since their inception 20+ years ago. We're sure you'll agree there is scope for debate as to shortfalls everywhere in policing. Proud to report our TPCSO's are hardworking and have a genuine passion for road safety.
English

@McauleyMetals @gmptraffic A unit that covers shortfalls in the traffic department. PCSO's were supposed to be a visible link in the community primarily on foot when they were introduced....then came Cameron and May
English

@kuldipsingh99 A decision for the courts that one Kuldeep. But we hear you
English

@gmptraffic Why no prison? Short sharp sentence wakes these hooligans up, pronto quick!
English

@RealismHelps We don't set the speed limits - we enforce them when it is necessary. Not sure many people are going to refer to 87 mph in a posted 30 as being 'waffle'. Thank you for your engagement
English

@gmptraffic Yet you waffle on sneakily about 'excessive' speed, but devote you time to exceeding an arbitrary limit which may not be excessive. If you want to be credible at least be honest & consistent.
English

@FentonRedbush Your local authority can deploy traffic monitoring equipment at a site to monitor a variety of factors such as frequency of vehicles, time of use during the day etc. Speed is also a factor that can be monitored. Search on their website for more details 👍
English

@LOOKatMyMX5 Our thoughts exactly - thankfully, nobody hurt on this occasion and matter dealt with at court
English

@gmptraffic Well done they are fatality waiting to happen!
English

@IsP739 You'd be surprised how many people don't see officers blatantly stood in the open at the roadside, holding a camera whilst wearing a white hat AND hi-visibility yellow jacket Colonel Austin...
English

@gmptraffic Clearly didn't see you hiding behind a bush with a Speed gun.🧐
He'll be more careful next time, if he ever gets a driving test....l
English

@TheShireOfYork Our powers under Section 6 of the Road Traffic Act [1988] would certainly have made this a consideration
English

@gmptraffic bet if you stopped them they would not have passed the drug wipe
English

@JohnSpenge There are certainly a lot of positives to social media John but yes, one of the negatives is that a lot of people can be reached in a short space of time with footage showing dangerous & irresponsible driving.
English

@gmptraffic It feels like a lost cause sometimes when you see idiots posting videos of themselves speeding excessively onto social media
English

@McauleyMetals No intention to confuse Neil. Individually our support officers are referred to as Traffic PCSO's. A number of units within branch (Roads Policing Unit / Motorcycle Unit / CVU) are re-aligning to the Transport Policing & Crime Command, hence the reference Transport PCSO Unit
English

@gmptraffic Never heard of the Transport PCSO Unit? What’s that?
English

@KathrynStubbs3 Dangerous game to play Ms Krunch!!! Thanks for the continued support
English

@gmptraffic Some young people think it a computer game when their driving!
Great work as always teams..thank you
Styal, England 🇬🇧 English

@3746Michael @julesw1lko @LevyCllrs No, we would never advocate that as pavements are for pedestrians. The issue at present is enforcement officers outside of London still don't have the legislation in place to issue fines, so unless a vehicle is causing a clear obstruction, there's not much that can be done
English

@LukeGodfrey1 No, but it's a good question Luke. We frequently get contacted by drivers reporting their vehicles stolen. As the details are recorded on our records management systems, it's very easy for the telephone operators to work out they've been seized and we notify them that way
English

@gmptraffic I’m curious, do you leave a note there or something so the driver doesn’t think their car’s been stolen?
English

@EdinburghSpot @PSOSEdinburgh Whilst we do genuinely appreciate the engagement, just to clarify, we do only cover Greater Manchester.
Just saying 😬
