My brother is gay. I don’t care what another adults sexuality is. I love my brother and I saw how hard it was for him to come out. This isn’t about accepting someone else’s sexual preferences though. It’s about it being shoved down our throats every second. It’s about every athlete, regardless of their sexual preferences or their religious beliefs, being forced to publicly display support for something they may or may not agree with. Their choice is being taken away and when they set a firm boundary they are labelled homophobic, or a “detriment” to the team. My own gay brother refuses to participate in pride events because it’s gone from being a sexual preference to a whole identity. People’s whole lives revolve around their sexual preference like it’s a get out of jail free card to wear dildos in the street. You can accept the person and not be ok with the behavior. This applies to everything. Stop claiming others are shitty humans because they different values or beliefs than you, and then thinking you’re better than as a result.
