This is how misinformation spreads. Listing risk factors and pretending exercise "controls" childbirth outcomes ignores the reality of obstetrics. You can do everything "right" and still need a C-section. Health is not a moral scorecard.

A Thread🧵 The way some people talk about C-sections tells me we don't actually understand pregnancy, childbirth, or women's bodies. Yet we are very loud about it.

@fakeyeesther04 So you have finally accepted you need to still go to the gym and do some yoga before entering into labour. Yes, a C-section is required for things you have mentioned. That's why i said, "Do your best and leave the rest to God". This argument started cus I said go to gym.. lol

@GabzCode Many women with healthy weight, good stamina, normal BP and active lifestyles still require C-sections due to factors exercise cannot control baby’s position, fetal distress, placental issues, emergencies. Risk reduction is not risk elimination. That distinction matters.

This is the problem. Yes, exercise is healthy. No, it does NOT eliminate the need for C-sections. Pregnancy and childbirth are not fitness challenges

@fakeyeesther04 You forgot - Excessive weight for both mother and child - Gestational diabetes - High blood pressure - Lack of stamina - Weak pelvic floor muscles Are these not issues science has taught can be controlled and avoided through workouts? Do your best and leave the rest to God

Exercise can reduce some risks, it does not control: baby's position, fetal distress, placental issues, emergency complications..... Framing C-sections as "laziness" is not science, it's stigma.

@fakeyeesther04 Prevention is better than cure Workouts help and reduce the risk of needing a C-section. If you want to be lazy, just say so But don't open Mouth and say it doesn't help reduce the risk of having to need one

Suggesting gym, yoga or food as solutions to childbirth complications is like telling someone to drink water to cure a broken leg. Confident ignorance is still ignorance.
