@DennisThePerrin I’ve got to disagree a bit - I abhor the modern political/nationalist incarnation of the thing, but base-level Zionism is fine. Jews have persisted in the land since Rome, without too much issue, and had balance. More could have come peacefully to fit in, but chose otherwise

It is fascinating how Islam is so frequently conflated with Arabness. Sometimes there is even an implied moral failure for those who are Muslim but not Arab, which leads to forced Arabization in many non Arab communities. Despite the historical reality that the vast majority of Muslims globally are not Arab and haven’t been for 80% of Islam’s history.

@TheKavernacle But GTA IV as an overall narrative, it suffers from its 2008-ness. Cutscenes are rather short which leads to many narrative elements feeling underexplored. And an entire third of the game is filler (when you reach the third island and do missions for the mafia).

is and yes I know the KKK can be found in the world, I know there are racists and neo-confederates but I think the world is honestly abit sanitised. For me the best Houser Bros writing is GTA IV and Max Payne 3. Red Dead 1 is really solid as well.

Honestly as *mainstream* video games go, GTA 4 has some of the best social commentary. Mafia III I'd say does a really good job also but game isn't as good as GTA 4. I also think Rockstar massively went backwards in having as much interesting things to say with GTA V and RDR2

All GTA stories have something good to say but I really appreciate how GTA4 really took the time to be serious to talk about the death of the american dream. All aspects it parodies were politically pointed to unravel all of it as a farce and show the hardships of immigrant life

I have a question. If the Gregorian calendar isn't real, why do Muslims pray jummah and recite surah kahf on Friday? Why is Friday night considered so blessed in Islam? Is there a different Friday in the Islamic calendar? What am I missing here?
