@TonyBellew At least the refs are consistent ...... it's now different from the push on Konate, which led to the Everton equaliser - these decisions equal out over a season 🤷‍♂️

Someone please please please let me know how this isn’t a penalty! The ref thought it was when he was a few yards away yet his mates on the mic hundreds of miles away said it’s not and he then changes his mind! It’s all a con! Game is now f****d imo!

@Teamgrassroots_ I know the feeling.... I'm in my 12th year at the club & 10 seasons with the same team. I've only got 2 boys who have completed the whole journey, with one being my son. U16s for us was all about the kids making memories with mates in their last season in junior football. 🧡

In 2 and a half months, and after 8 years of coaching my son and his grassroots team, at the end of this season our journey is coming to an end. This weekend after our game, me and my son had a little moment, as we were packing away just to reflect, and have a few laughs about the ups and downs, I asked him what his favourite part of the journey has been, we've won 2 cups, a couple of tournaments and one league title in 8 seasons, to my surprise he said the time I gave him a managers player award, the one I gave him, this makes me proud and upset at the same time.😢 And when he left with his mates, I actually had a quiet moment to myself, (no tears....yet) we have 9 games left together, just 9. 8 seasons have gone past in the blink of an eye and I've seen boys turn into men. Unless you have been a parent coach, coaching your child or a player coached by a parent you will never fully understand the challenges and sacrifices this often thankless task brings for both. 9 to go and I'm dreading every one as every one takes me closer to the end of our journey together.

@Teamgrassroots_ I'm a chairman of a grassroots club. Playing time is split 50/50 between all players (U7s to U11s). When we get to the competitive age groups, we then play a minimum of 20 mins if they're in the match day squad. (Usually driven by attendance, attitude, effort in training, etc)

📷Coach seeking Advice from fellow Coaches. I am a new coach of an under 8 team. I have a team with a wide mix of ability, some are new to the game and others have played a lot of football. How do other coaches manage the amount of playing time they give their players? Do they have a method of tracking minutes on a sheet or do they keep their better players on the pitch and take them off to give other's a chance when the game is lost or won? Ideally, I would like all my players to have as much time on the pitch as possible over the season but I have not found an effective way of tracking and recording the minutes of time played on a pitch. Has anyone any recommendations?

@JATTSOPRANO316 Torres - as that transfer came from nowhere. We knew LS wanted to leave, but that never affected his efforts all the way to the end.

@BrackleyTownFC @EmiratesFACup Incredible 2nd half. So so good. So proud of that performance. A bit of luck or an official not in blue and white knows. But what an effort

@Teamgrassroots_ Your husband sounds like a really nice guy & his attitude is everything I love about grassroots football. One day, those kids will appreciate the effort & sacrifice your husband has made over the years. I wish him all the best as I personally know how much effort goes in.

I am the wife of a man who has dedicated the past 12 years to coaching young boys, helping them become the best versions of themselves. What began as simply helping out my son’s team when he was five years old has grown into a journey where my husband is now the head coach and chief cheerleader. Sadly, that journey came to an end last night. Why? Because, after a series of tough results (and yes, they were tough 🤦‍♀️), a local team made a tempting offer to some of the most talented players on my husband’s team. These boys, aged 15 and 16, felt their pride wounded and decided to take up the offer. This led to more players following suit, leaving my husband with no choice but to fold the team. Despite his heartbreak, my husband fought until the very end. He stayed up all night, reaching out to every parent he could think of who might have a player who could help. He felt a deep responsibility to the remaining players to ensure they could still enjoy football on the weekend. Sadly, despite his best efforts, it wasn’t meant to be. I watched my husband crumble last night. It was heartbreaking. He cried, something I rarely see. He spent hours calling each parent, and the tears were not just his own. The words of comfort from the parents were incredibly moving: ‘My son wouldn’t be who he is today without you.’ ‘Because of you, my son has made lifelong friends.’ Unfortunately, youth football can be incredibly competitive, as an ex-dance mum, I can say without a doubt that the world of grassroots football is far more cutthroat than the world of dance! Though the team may be gone, my husband’s work doesn’t end here. He will do everything in his power to help the boys find new teams if that’s what they want. And why does he continue? Because his values are rooted in respect, integrity, and sportsmanship. His team has meant everything to him, and they always will. I guess I’m just venting my grief. Yes, grief. We lost our football family last night. We knew it wouldn’t last forever, but losing it so suddenly and harshly is difficult to process. To all the grassroots coaches out there—like my husband—who simply want to see kids enjoy the game, I want to say: I’m proud of you. Your impact on their lives is something no one can take away. Yours in Sport, Anon

Real proud personal achievement tonight making my 500th appearance in mens football and 3 points to go with! Means even more to reach this milestone after the knee injuries last season. Less in front of me than whats behind me but looking forward to adding more games to the tally
