Residents in Khan Younis and Gaza City reported at least 10 airstrikes and renewed shelling, though no casualties have yet been confirmed. The Israeli military said the operations targeted “terrorist infrastructure that posed a threat to troops” within areas it still occupies. Tension is rising over a fragile truce that’s been in effect since October 10, following Israel’s retaliatory bombardments earlier this week that killed 104 Palestinians, including 46 children and 20 women. Israel claimed it struck 26 militants, including a Hamas commander linked to the October 7, 2023 assault, while Hamas accused Israel of waging a “systematic campaign of misinformation” to mask civilian deaths.
