This ignores all other taxes. The top 1% has 20.1% of income and pays 23.9% of all taxes. Our overall tax system is only slightly more progressive than a flat tax.

The problem with making edgy jokes that punch down on vulnerable groups, is no matter how you do it, no matter your intent, you’re empowering bigotry. Dave Chappelle’s jokes weren’t weaponized. They were accurately interpreted as being defamatory of trans people.

@RobertStock6 @theaceofspaeder The only "fix" if you think it is a problem, is to create a buffer zone of 1/2" that you say is subjective, and only overturn outside of that. That said, I don't see the actual problem with correctly calling the pitch.

Homelander has been like that since season 1, and even earlier than that in the original comic book (where, among other things, he stages a coup and successfully overthrows the US government), which ended in 2012. The problem is Trump behaves like a deranged comic book villain.

The Boys is another example of the Hollywood left trying to villainize the right and make them look awful. Similar to what they attempted with the Starship Troopers movie. They have increasingly tried to make Homelander into Trump, with him flipping out over memes, comparing himself to Caesar, etc. Where they failed is that everyone still likes him. Regardless of what he does, he still has fans. I know it drives the producers insane. It's little things like that, that make me happy.

It’s Republicans. What do you expect? Their history is out there for everyone to see. They have always been shitty for the economy. They always look to cut taxes for the rich and push massive authoritarian bills. This time around it’s more money for wars, surveillance, and a new police force (ICE’s very big increase). Republicans are the worst thing for working-class people. Sadly, many working-class people don’t follow the news and only listen to sound bites from radio and their favorite right-wing news stations, probably Fox News or Newsmax, who all push fear tactics for the Republican Party.

Before Trump’s war the Strait of Hormuz was open, sanctions were in place, and gas was $2.39. Now Iran controls the Strait, sanctions will be lifted, gas is $4.99, 13 Americans are dead, over 300 injured, and the loss of hundreds of billions in aircraft and U.S. base repairs.

@ernestdove @SlugLord9000 The thing I’ve missed is the low zone called strike. He got so many called strikes at the knees where batters thought it would be low and then freeze when the ivb carried it back into the zone. I don’t think I’ve seen him execute that once at the MLB level.
