⏩ The outcomes of the experiments will constitute a benchmark for the calibration of advanced numerical tools in predicting the performance of the CIs. The outcomes of the project may provide meaningful geotechnical insights in the flood risk assessment of earth structures.

🗣️ RES FLUCTIS project, carried out in the University of Cambridge’s Schofield Centre, aims at investigating by centrifuge modelling the hydro-mechanical behaviour of unsaturated river embankments subjected to flood events, up to failure conditions.

In unsaturated soils, the measured pile capacity was approximately double that in fully saturated soils. These results also align well with recently proposed analytical methods.

🗣️ The PI.LAT.US project, carried out at University Gustave Eiffel, aims at investigating the interaction between solar panels pile foundations and partially saturated soils by providing high quality and well instrumented centrifuge tests results.
