This was the first application of ribosome profiling to an arterivirus, revealing many novel features which add to the complexity of gene expression programmes in this important family of nidoviruses. But most of all, it was great fun and I learnt loads! Thanks to all involved😊

Finally, we looked at the host response to infection and found that (similarly to coronaviruses) transcriptionally induced genes were often poorly translated, indicating a dampening of the host response at the translational level.
