@MelanieLatest Not sure, but it might be because people are tired of watching Israel burn children alive and starve the ones who survive. Maybe..

Everyone should be revolted by the picture of a starving child. But the questions remain: is the picture real or fake, and who is responsible in the unlikely event that it’s real? Democratic political leaders know the truth. They have access to all relevant information. They know that Israel is acting well beyond any precedent of war to avoid civilian casualties. Their job is to speak the truth and not jump on the anti-Israel bandwagon because it is politically expedient. Their job also is to call out real civilian suffering in Africa and Asia of a dimension exponentially higher than in Gaza. Nothing but crickets however on those fronts. Unfortunately, it appears that more than half of the Democrat Senators are acting on the basis of arithmetic rather than morality. They know that it is Hamas and Hamas alone that is responsible for the suffering in Gaza. But they see more votes on the anti-Israel side and are elevating politics above principle. And in so doing, they are fanning the flames of antisemitism. If only they were as moved by the real pictures of suffering Israeli hostages as they were by the @nytimes fake picture of a suffering Gaza child whose predicament was unrelated to a falsely alleged food shortage. History will not be kind.

The images of hostages being paraded for propaganda are sickening. Every hostage must be released unconditionally. Hamas must disarm and have no control over Gaza. We are working with partners on a long-term solution and plan for peace. This must begin with an immediate ceasefire, that frees the hostages, as well as removing inhumane aid restrictions.
