Je reçois à l instant un mail de l assurance maladie intitulé bien vivre sa menaupose. 1) comment savent ils que je suis menauposee ? 2 ) je le vis très bien, je peux me passer de leurs conseils.

And even this is the MOST talked about and recognizable pm/menopause symptom. Even OBGYNs know next to nothing about so many of the others, and dismiss it all as unrelated. Insanely Itchy ears Insomnia Anxiety Let’s not forget the RAGE digestive issues Skin issues Peeing 500 times a day and on and on.

Pregnancy gets endless attention, even though many women never experience it. Menopause happens to nearly all of us yet it’s rarely discussed openly. We need more women sharing those real stories.

I really wish that someone had talked about perimenopause when I was younger. Like I never heard any woman ever talk about it. Not ever. That pisses me off. They should have been warning us girls how bad it was going to be. Instead, we stumble into it blindly

Things that are actually harming women’s health (and no, it’s not freaking seed oils): -Chronic sleep deprivation disguised as “just part of motherhood” -The mental load of running a household while working full-time -Delayed diagnoses because symptoms are dismissed as “anxiety” or “stress” -Lack of paid maternity leave and real postpartum support -Being told to “just lose weight” instead of getting evidence-based care -Skipping meals, movement, and medical appointments because everyone else comes first -Medical gaslighting, especially when it comes to pain, fatigue, and hormonal symptoms -Structural barriers to care: time, cost, childcare, access -Workplace systems that punish pregnancy and caregiving -The expectation that women should function at 100%…all the time…no matter what But sure, tell me more about seed oils. 🙄

@DrPlantel and the data gap makes it worse, most women have no baseline to bring to appointments, so symptoms stay invisible until they're severe.

Dr. Jen Wolkin | ADHD + Trauma Therapist
Puberty, pregnancy, post-partum, and peri/menopause don’t cause ADHD, they EXPOSE it. The truth is, it’s been there all along, masked by good grades, or being “the quiet good girl,” or with diagnoses of depression and anxiety. XO, Dr. Jen

@SarahVaci in your late 40s, progesterone drop disrupts deep sleep architecture. it's not habits, it's hormones... but like... really! tracking it by cycle phase shows the pattern. apps.apple.com/us/app/give-ze…

Is it possible to have a properly good sleep in your late 40s and wake up feeling refreshed and well rested? To have that ‘close your eyes and they ping open a moment later and you’ve had a whole night’s sleep’ experience just like when you’re a kid? Does anyone have that? What’s your secret? I’m tired every damn morning!

Dear Millennial Little Sisters, As you approach perimenopause, please reach out to us because our moms didn’t tell us shit either but we’ve been yelling at doctors for 15 years and found out some stuff. xoxo - Gen X

@nickimoraa My doctor keeps saying I'm still too young at 45. I'm just sitting here waiting for it to actually happen (I'm still getting normal periods, so I guess not yet).

Question for my menopausal pals: do you find it difficult to recall names of people or things? Not ones you have forgotten, but names you know perfectly well but cannot easily bring to mind on the spot?

@fcknsyd this is really common in the luteal phase, progesterone drop triggers a cortisol spike right as you fall asleep. your body reads it as a stress event even when you feel calm. tracking it against your cycle usually shows it's not random. Give Zero does exactly that.

Has anyone else dealt with this? My body goes into stress mode as soon as I fall asleep. Even if I'm in rest mode before falling asleep. What could be the cause of this? What has helped you?

@AllisonFlo97981 and yet most tracking apps still treat HRV as a generic number with no cycle context. follicular vs luteal HRV baselines can differ by 15-20ms in the same person. completely normal. completely ignored.

The one piece of advice I wish someone would have told me long ago is that when you are in the late luteal phase of your cycle, the best thing to do is keep your mouth shut. It’s not the time for discussions or decisions. Next week you will be thinking more clearly.
