I understand your grievance, but I won't totally blame the guy.
He was in love and thought he had a future with her, so he was planning his future by placing her in a good job, so that he won't have a jobless wife. He was trying to build a family where both he and his woman are financially ok.
Let's assume you had a broke bf you loved so much, who has potentials and is desperately looking for an opportunity, you would have placed him above your brother too, after all you won't marry your brother
It's the same thing with men who train their gf in school or pay for their gf to learn skills, I've even seen some who made plans and japa together.
It's just unfortunate that the girl was a good digger.
