The Calgary Hitmen are destined to be the higher seed in a first round playoff series with the Brandon Wheat Kings. I'm fascinated as to how that schedule shakes out, as the Saddledome is pretty booked-up during the first round period.

Yes, 100% this. I think the Hitmen would greatly benefit from it as well. If Winsport has more seating, maybe even there would have been good (granted it’s a bit far for a lot of people)

@nitwitschool @CofRedCentral It would have to be a new 5k seater down town. Moving them to win sport would significantly hurt the attendance due to location 7 Chiefs would have to have a brand new seating layout and change the current bench seating into individual seats.

@Goatzel @CofRedCentral I think it's likely when the new arena opens they'll be looking to attract a PWHL, while the AHL team will be moved a short plane ride away. It's just not drawing crowds. I doubt they're breaking even this year.

@nitwitschool @CofRedCentral They only staff one half of the dome for concessions for hitmen games. Not sure about the wranglers. But CSEC is interested in losing concession income from those teams. Not sure what the roughnecks situation is. But I’m sure it’s gravy as well.

@Goatzel @CofRedCentral What lost revenue? They aren't generating revenue now with 1,000 people in a 19,500 seat arena. The Dome costs significantly more to staff than 7 Chiefs would.
