Yeh, basically everyone had about 10bb. I was surprised by how passive most players were. There was lots of limping.
Main thing I struggled with was being on top of how many big blinds are in the pot and how many each person has in their stack, which online is obviously very easy to see.
Also it's a lot slower. Multitabling online means you're always doing something. Whereas in person it can be easier to get bored and start playing sub-optimally simply because you feel like you haven't had a hand in ages.
English

And finished. ICM deal between 7 remaining players. Took home ~£1,300 from a £60 buy in.
Very very happy with the result! On to Prague next weekend!

Final table. 8.4m stack vs 5.6m average. 21 big blinds

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER Just don’t pretend you’re right without a tool which literally does the analysis for you. Basically reinforces all the analysis I already made for you
English

@GodWonderboy @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER HRC. Bad input bad output.
Play how you like. Just don't pretend you're right without analysis.
English

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER You pile that aqo in lil bro, thanks for letting me play this game for a job

English

Where did I say play a CEV strat. ICM doesn't mean 'fold everything'.
Winning chips is directionally the same as winning money. You're losing chips by folding. You're going to lose chips every single hand till the bubble bursts with your mentality.
I wouldn't play pure CEV, but not as tight as ICM model suggests, because ICM has many documented limitations which I'm sure Moorman already knows of. And even ICM solver probably doesn't fold AQo here.
English

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER Icm means making the decision that makes you the most $ ev.
“Losing chips by folding” that’s fine in these spots because any vpip from so many hands is losing $ ev.
You’re talking like I said we just range fold every spot till itm which is a fucking hillarious reach
English

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER Yeah you keep playing a cev strat in a high icm pressure environment, we’re nowhere near as interested in winning chips as we’re interested in winning money.
English

@GodWonderboy @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER No it's not to "get ITM" it's to maximize your winnings, and that happens by winning chips. This is not a satellite.
Getting ITM isn't the over-riding objective here.
English

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER The main objective in this spot isn’t to win chips, it’s to get itm. Anyone with any kind of understanding of icm knows this. I said 3bf is an option but wouldn’t be surprised if supposed to just fold to the open as rp (risk premium) is probably 25% if I had to guess
English

@GodWonderboy @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER Your analysis boils down to 1) busting is bad, 2) You can't bust if you fold. Therefore 3) Fold.
That's not at all meaningful. You're not addressing how often this happens or the relative upside of winning chips, which is the objective of the game.
English

@GodWonderboy @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER I'm not playing 'many' jams. AQo is literally the hand that most wants to jam.
English

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER Multiple people behind who can also stack you which also influences these spots and means you don’t play many jams, if it’s btn sb bb, maybe
English

I can forgive your math being wrong, but you can read it. There's 4.5 BB in the pot, not 3. You downsized it by 50%. He's increasing his stack by 20%.
If you're going to play this like a satellite, sure you can fold into the money with 95% chance of success, but that will nuke your chances of getting 15.6x BI for first etc.
You're going to get called very rarely here and some of the time will be a very big stack after getting called.
NAI 3 bet can be peeled and you'll have similar issues or worse on most flops. In fact stacking off with top pair is more likely to see you busted than jamming pre.
English

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER You think risking your tournament life to win 4.5bb here in a spot where you probably have 25% RP drastically increases your tournament $ev then you’re a lost cause.
He won’t peel a lot because you’re supposed to use a big polar size because your value is AA KK maybe AKs
English

@bencb789 @GodWonderboy @JamesFl70174920 Whatever, at the end of the day poker is all u got. Ur super unathletic (seen ur training footage yikes 😂) and prob were bullied in school for being an unathletic nerd.
U know deep down im right, but u try and play it off cuz u got money. Nobody respects u mate
English

@GodWonderboy @JamesFl70174920 @bencb789 It’s not a pure jam. 99 here is basically the same as 66. It’s mostly a fold. Especially with a short stack shorter than Ben
English

@Mukherjea @Moorman1 @ACR_POKER What does jamming achieve? You risk your tournament life to win 3 bigs when you can do anything but jam and win 3.5 buyins very often without risk, 3 bnai a tight polar range here around AA KK and suited ax and you really think you’re going to get run over by 4bs from villain?
English

Just jamming here. Prints chips, and you're rarely crushed.
ICM problems will persist for a while, there's absolutely no guarantee anyone busts soon and if you fold you're overall play is extremely -CEV, and that will continue for potentially anywhere from 5-20 hands on average.
A 3.4x mincash is much bigger than normal, but I don't think it's so big you should handcuff yourself and bleed large amounts of chips till it's locked.
Fold is bad. 3b/fold can be just as tricky potentially because you're still hand-cuffed if they call and it's a disaster if they jam something like 77/88/99/AJo because they think you're weak too often here.
For chips AQo is the one hand that always wants to jam pre.
I don't hate flat-call btw, but it has all the downsides of 3b/fold.
You're going to bust out about 6-7% of the time maybe here? It's not worth the cost to try and reduce that number to 2 or 3% with some other option or 0% by folding.
English

@Moorman1 @RobKuhn_ @ACR_POKER Probably. Wouldn’t be surprised if you’d be folding TT to the open too in this exact spot with 3x min cash
English

@RobKuhn_ @ACR_POKER One of the problems with 3b fold I felt was how narrow we want to induce in this spot. Seems really easy to over bluff here when induce range might be as tight as KK+?
English

@bencb789 call(hope the set)/fold. i dont get this? but im not that GTO guy..
English

@JamesFl70174920 @IkeHax20 @bencb789 Well he didn’t cause it’s a pure jam, unless you think he got it wrong cause the villain had value this time, then you must just be the stupidest person on earth
English
