The next time you read "a new poll shows", you should know there is now no guarantee a single real person was ever asked. The major news outlet, Axios, recently published a story citing poll findings that most people trust their doctors and nurses. It turned out no one had been polled. The results were generated entirely by AI. The outlet added a correction later. Most people who read the original story never saw it. The company behind it uses something called silicon sampling. AI models are prompted to simulate what different groups of people would say. It costs a fraction of real polling and takes minutes instead of weeks. Several of the biggest names in research are now doing it. Gallup is building thousands of AI-generated 'digital twins' to stand in for real people. Ipsos is working with Stanford on the same idea. CVS is already using fabricated customer opinions to shape its business strategy. The same company that fabricated those poll results also ran a full simulation of the 2024 US presidential election the night before it happened. Their AI said Kamala Harris would win. Here is the problem. The models are trained on past data and shaped by whoever builds them. They do not tell you what people think. They tell you what the people who built the model think people think. That is a completely different thing. Polls already shape what politicians do, what products get made, what stories get covered and what policies get passed. If the polls are now being generated by machines trained on assumptions rather than answers from real people, the consequences go well beyond a correction at the bottom of an article. Most people will never know this is happening. That is the point. Follow me to stay informed

UK exports to the EU hit a record high in 2025, up 19% since 2016. There's no Brexit damage. Labour's EU Reset is a political choice, not an economic necessity. wp.me/p9GdkQ-a2b #Brexit

🚨 WhatsApp’s “end-to-end encrypted” privacy is a total lie. New class-action lawsuit just dropped: Meta secretly let employees, contractors like Accenture, and third parties read, intercept, and store your private messages WITHOUT consent. All while marketing it as “only you and the recipient can read it.” Zuck lied to billions. Your chats were never safe.

Ofcom is back in the news — and not for the right reasons. Serious questions are being raised after it emerged that the media regulator awarded £50,000 to the charitable arm of The Guardian. This comes at the same time as Ofcom continues to target outlets such as GB News, while aggressively enforcing the Orwellian Online Safety Act. In recent years, Ofcom has begun to flex its muscles in ways that go far beyond its original remit — even straying into matters of foreign affairs. The Online Safety Act granted the regulator sweeping new powers, which are now being used in ways that are stifling free speech. What was presented as domestic legislation to protect children from online harms has evolved into something far broader. Ofcom’s growing extraterritorial ambitions now pose a direct threat to the First Amendment rights of US citizens and are already having a damaging effect on American tech firms. Read more below 👇

Oh humans, what are you doing?? This autistic young man between 16-18 years old was euthanised in Holland because he was joyless and terribly lonely. Poor, poor boy, instead of adults loving him and helping him, they chose to kill him instead.

The nut zealotry of Ed Miliband A new occasional series — No 2 At a time when global supply chains are vulnerable and we should be producing much more of our own food, E Miliband has today approved Springwell Solar Farm. It will cover seven square miles of prime Lincolnshire farmland. And the solar panels are likely to come from China (so much for green manufacturing jobs). Mili-Madness on stilts.
Andrew Neil@afneil

The nut zero zealotry of Ed Miliband. A new occasional series. [feel free to add]. Fertiliser prices and shortages are soaring because the petrochemical industries of the Gulf states are major global suppliers but the Strait of Hormuz, through which they export, is closed. Not good for the spring planting season. Undaunted the UK will introduce a levy on imported carbon-intensive fertiliser as part of its costly obsession with cutting emissions, even when the impact is slight. At a time when we should be increasing food security government policy is to penalise farmers further.

SHE REPORTED NHS FRAUD. THEY GAVE HER CANCER AND A P45 Sharmila Chowdhury @sharmilaxx spent 30 years working in the @NHS without a single disciplinary mark. Then she caught two consultant radiologists at Ealing Hospital NHS Trust billing the NHS for sessions they were spending at a private hospital down the road. Double-dipping on public money. Straightforward fraud. She reported it. To her line manager. To the Medical Director. To the HR Director. To Counter Fraud. To the Chief Executive. To Number 10. To the Treasury. She had a paper trail so solid that ITV later sent undercover cameras to the hospital and caught the same consultants still at it years later, taking cash from patients for private ultrasounds inside an NHS building. The Trust's response? They sacked her. On fabricated counter-allegations. The man who raised those allegations later sent an email signed off "0800-F***-YOU-B****." He received a 'Top Mentor' award from the Trust that same year. Sharmila won at tribunal. She won her appeal. The judge asked the Trust to reinstate her. The Trust said no. She was blacklisted across the NHS. One job offer was withdrawn the moment they found out who she was. Her legal costs hit £130,000. She developed breast and lung cancer, which her doctors believe is linked to the years of sustained stress. The consultants kept their jobs. George Osborne couldn't get involved. Andrew Lansley couldn't get involved. David Cameron couldn't get involved. Because everyone decided it was an "employment matter." A proven fraud case, covered by ITV, the Guardian, Daily Mail and Channel 4, and the official position of Her Majesty's Government was: not our problem. This is what the UK does to people who try to protect public money. It destroys them and promotes the people they were trying to stop. 🤦The 50p tax rate was supposed to raise £2.7bn a year. It raised £1bn. The Energy Profits Levy was forecast at £41.6bn. It raised £17.4bn. The non-dom abolition was meant to raise £34bn. It may raise nothing. 📉This is not bad luck. It is a pattern.

The Charity Commission was asked to investigate “the claim that school children were being encouraged to send Valentine’s Day cards to adult asylum seekers” by City of Sanctuary UK. The Commission “did not find evidence to support these allegations.” Behold, City of Sanctuary’s “Schools Activity Pack”. Read the “Suggested activities” and tell me where the “misinformation” is? as The Charity Commission called it.

After a HUGE public backlash, Labour is claiming that Digital ID is not going to be mandatory. Let me be absolutely clear. This is a total LIE! Labour are deceitfully bringing it in through the back door and we must NOT comply. They *DO NOT* have a mandate for this. The Together Declaration are holding rallies on 25th April in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Belfast to send this vile Labour govt a message. "SCRAP DIGITAL ID" I will be speaking at the event in London, so hopefully I will see you all there! Details in the thread, please share 🙏👍
Alan D Miller@alanvibe

“Digital ID: After a huge Public backlash Labour is claiming it is not Mandatory. Let’s be absolutely clear that is a total lie. In typical Labour fashion they are deceitfully sneaking it through the back door. First they’re starting with the 8 million UK Company Directors who are being forced to sign in with Gov. uk One Login Digital ID or face losing their livelihoods. So people like me who’ve run legitimate UK businesses for years will have to comply or face the consequences. This is how it works, First it says it’s Optional to ‘make your life easier and quicker’ Optional - unless you want to run your own business Then they’ll say its Optional until you want to use The NHS This is mission creep for total control , weaponising It against Free Speech & climate targets like Net Zero ALL with One Single Point of Failure with Everybody’s Details! We must not Comply and The Together Declaration are Fighting Back ! We Demand a Digital Bill of Rights that says Digital ID will NEVER be Mandatory No Surveillance Bo Tracking We just want to live Normal Lives Get inolved; contact your MP, share this video and attend one of the Four Rallies in The UK” Lee Harris @LeeHarris will be speaking at London Trafalgar Square London Edinburgh Belfast Cardiff Sat 25 April #notodigitalid #together

Funny how it’s gone very quiet about McSweeney’s “stolen” phone. As a security cleared person (and I assume/hope that Starmers' Chief Adviser was cleared at the top level) there are some basic responsibilities that an individual has. The devices they work on are subject to SC regulations, including, very importantly, what to do if they are compromised in any way (which includes loss or theft). There will be government protocols which very likely instruct individuals to report this first to the security office of the area they work in. In McSweeneys' case this, one assumes, is the security desk at No 10. The first step is NOT to call the Police and very much NOT to provide inaccurate information but to report it to your security desk. A Security Cleared person has a significant responsibility and it is not one to be taken lightly or with nonchalant triviality. So while MSM gets distracted by the phone call transcript with the Met Police the real question is: when did McSweeny report it to the security desk at No 10, if he did at all?
