@felixherbt Even in developed nations, there are activists. What do you mean by "call out the government"? Because someone like VDM actively condemns the government and show their ineptitude. Or do you want him to lead a political movement or join politics? I want to get your perspective.

Remove emotions from your heart and reflect on this. Why do so many Nigerian influencers like VDM and Tunde Onakoya, aka the Chess Man, prefer a failing nation like Nigeria so their self-proclaimed goodwill can continue to speak louder for them? Instead of joining the millions of Nigerians who are calling for the government to do its basic job so that everyone can thrive, they have chosen to become celebrities in the graveyard of our collective failure. Look at VDM. The man would rather fly around building boreholes and class room and posting viral videos of grateful villagers drinking water than use that same massive platform to demand why, in 2026, millions of Nigerians still lack clean water, electricity, or basic infrastructure that any serious government should have provided decades ago. He prefers to be the hero fixing what the government deliberately abandoned. In a functional Nigeria, his saviour brand loses its shine. The same applies to Tunde Onakoya, the Chess Man. He takes vulnerable children and families, the very ones this government’s bad policies have kept poor, uneducated, and hopeless, and turns their hardship into feel-good content, Guinness records, international praise, and personal enrichment. Teaching chess is beautiful, but when you keep profiting from the poverty the system manufactured without ever calling out the system itself, you are not a solution, you are part of the business model. These influencers are not stupid. They understand the game perfectly: a broken, suffering Nigeria is the perfect stage for their philanthropy performances. This is not activism. This is opportunism wearing the mask of compassion. Nigerians, it is time we open our eyes. We must be extremely careful about the kind of people we elevate into the hall of fame and crown as national heroes. It is patriotic to demand a Nigeria that works for all of us, not just for the influencers who shine brightest when the rest of us are in darkness.

You have 24 hours. I have 24 hours. We all have 24 hours. I spend mine moving. Learning. Building. Saying no to the things that feel good but lead nowhere. You spend yours on things that don't count. Things that feel urgent but aren't important. Things that keep you busy but leave you empty. Then the results show up. And You call it luck. You call it connection. You call it "their time hasn't come yet." Call it whatever helps you sleep. But the honest truth is that? I just made different decisions with the same 24 hours you wasted. And I did it consistently. Day-by-day. That's it. Nothing more.

In 2021, I wanted to move from Savannah Energy, a British independent energy company, where I was the Tax Manager, to Shell, an IOC, as Tax Manager for their Gas Operations. My interviewer at the final stage, a senior industry colleague well-known to me through our industry tax managers meetings, was a Man U fan. I am an Arsenal fan. He had Man U jersey on in the virtual interview he was conducting from his home office and I started the interview with a light joke. "You are a Man U fan. I am an Arsenal fan. I think anyone that supports Arsenal should get extra point for loyalty and perseverance. We have not won the league in many years and we are still supporting." He laughed and said he accepted Arsenal fans are a lesson in perseverance. Interview proper started. Technical questions about gas and taxation and all that. I didn't get the job. A senior manager in KPMG got it. Later that year, in a BA flight from London to Lagos, I saw him in the business class cabin while I walked to my economy cabin, I quickly stopped by to tell him I wanted to talk to him when we landed in Lagos. We landed and I asked why Shell didn't give me the job. His response: "You did well, but the person that got the job had more nuances in his answers. You were focusing too much on PIA (which was just passed at the time) while he spoke on broader issues even outside PIA. My boss in Hague that listened to the recording of the interview preferred him" We rode home from the airport in same car. Well, I quit 9-5 less than two years later and started entrepreneurship. He is winding down his 9-5 career too. And we are business partners today.

Why is the man on the left selling his oil sourced from Nigeria in a foreign currency in his country, forcing his own countrymen to pay through their nose to purchase the same oil produced in their own country? The answer is the man on the right. There is no objective reason why a country like Nigeria, with one of the world’s largest oil reserves, to trade its own oil in a foreign currency, except that the man on the right has guns and missiles stationed in the Golf of Guinea to ensure this is your forced reality. This man on the right now wants to extend this presence (control) from the Golf of Guinea (AFFRICOM) into the heart of your country with boots on the ground, under the guise of fighting terrorism. I know he does the same thing around the world to any country that lets him, but I'm making this post specifically for Nigerians. Whenever you visit the gas station and complain that the prices are skyrocketing, always remember that geopolitics is a very important subject. One way or another, you will learn it by force. Good morning.

Crude Oil has to be one of nature’s best gift to humanity. There’s nothing from it that is useless. Almost every drop goes into something: Whether that’s synthetics for making drugs, or gas to drive cars or fuel for power plants. We cannot have the civilization we have today without it. Do you know that only one out of every nine drops of crude oil end up in the gas tank of vehicles? Even if all cars today were to become electric, the oil & gas industry would barely feel it.

Professor Jiang is right and I can say this from personal experience. I grew up in Nigeria legit living on less than 50 cents a day. I came to America with nothing but a student visa and a decision that I was not going back to that life. America didn't give me anything for free. But it did something more important. It got out of the way. It let my effort speak louder than my background. It didn't ask who my father was or what tribe I came from. It asked what I could do and what I was willing to build. Today I am helping and impacting lives in ways the version of me that survived on 50 cents a day could not have imagined. Is America perfect? No. But what Professor Jiang is pointing at is true. There is something uniquely generous about a country that takes a nobody from nowhere and gives him a real shot. I am that nobody. And America gave me that shot. That's not nothing. That's everything.
Autism Capital 🧩@AutismCapital

🚨PROFESSOR JIANG: "I've been to a lot of countries in the world and I'd say that America is the least racist country in the world because regardless of America's racist past Americans have a deep respect for hard work and talent. America is the only country in the world where you can come as a nobody and open a restaurant and become a millionaire. I know because I have relatives who have done that. You couldn't do that in China. You couldn't do that in Europe. You couldn't do that anywhere else. I understand that there's a racist past in America, that of slavery, that of the indigenous people, but you can't forget that America is still probably the most open and generous society in the world."

Building a house early in life is one of the biggest financial mistakes a young man or woman can make. You do not need to own a house right away. All you truly need is basic shelter: a decent roof over your head. In this modern, fast-paced digital age, reliable mobility and prestige matter far more. Imagine two people chasing the same contract or job. One arrives tired and dusty after trekking or battling public transport. The other drives up confidently in a clean car. You already know who wins the deal. A good car ensures timeliness, easy access to opportunities, and even side income from ride-sharing. A solid, comfortable car costs just 10 to 15 million naira. Building even a modest house demands 50 million naira or much more, locking your capital in one fixed spot with endless maintenance stress. Let's say you have 60 million naira. Spending 50 million on a house leaves you with almost nothing for mobility or growth. Instead, buy a good car for 10 to 15 million, pay reasonable rent of 500,000 naira yearly, and 4M in mutual funds. That investment in strong mutual funds can deliver strong yearly returns of 800k (This covers your rent for as long as you want). You stay mobile, professional, and free from rent headaches. With the remaining 30 to 40 million naira invested smartly, you can grow enough wealth in 10 to 15 years to build multiple houses while enjoying life now. Prioritize cash flow, mobility, and compounding growth over tying yourself down with bricks and mortar too soon. Build wealth first. Shelter is temporary. Financial freedom lasts forever. Above all, love God.

Once again i say, if you believe pregnancy changes you mentally, emotionally and physically and threatens your life (for which men should worship you), please don’t marry and don’t get pregnant. Remain pregnancy free for life. If you choose to have a child and have VOLUNTARY sex with a man of your choosing, please KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT about pregnancy and child birth. It is a normal physiological process that every animal goes through. Complications could arise sometimes but that itself is expected. If you genuinely feel pregnancy is a huge risk, may you never get pregnant so you can remain risk free. Stop disturbing everywhere about pregnancy and child birth. Your noise is irritating.

Buy your children a book every month and have a date to talk about the book and what they’ve read. Talk about the characters like they’re real. Bond over literature. Debate the lessons and decision making. Over food and drinks. Cultivate readers and build their collection

My daughter is finishing one book per day on this trip. One of the books is 500 pages, the others are over 400 pages. She finishes them and asks me to buy another. At this rate, I might have to give her a limit on how many books we can buy in a month. At her age, I was rolling tires down the street in Offa 😂

Men, you want unhinged money-making hacks? You won’t like mine, because there’s nothing “easy” about it. But here it is anyway: With about ₦4 million debt hanging over me, I lost my job on January 6, 2020. Till today, my pension is just ₦65,000.😭 Here’s what you should know: Your salary is the slowest way to get rich. The day one person can stop your income is the day you realise it was never truly yours. Age is not your problem—mindset is. I’ve seen people start late and outrun those who started early. Wealth doesn’t respect age; it respects action. I left my job at 49, in debt, and started afresh. Within three years, we built over a billion in sales. You must desire wealth. Not wish for it. Not admire it. Desire it enough to act, to risk, to learn, and to stay the course. Desire it like oxygen. Stop overplanning and start moving. Clarity doesn’t come from thinking—it comes from doing. Invest in people early. The right people will multiply you. Stay consistent. Persevere. Nothing good comes easy. And above all, pray to God for guidance. 🙏🏿 Because effort opens doors… but God orders your steps. Picture taken the day I lost my job.😂

1. Drink water, put a bottle by your bedside, drink when you wake 2. Ask your friend abroad to buy your multi-vitamins. Take them daily 3. Stop taking soda and “juice”, eat the fruit with the pulp, chew an orange, don't drink orange juice. 4. Slow down on the carbs, garri, jollef and amala, and do more protein. Termites are high in protein if you can't afford beef. ( I didn't stutter) 5. Sleep longer, weekends are for sleep, not just parties and watching football. 6. Take your holidays, do not exchange them for cash and work all year round. Go to a village or slow area for a holiday once in a while to decouple. Travelling to the UK or Dubai to shop in malls and eat a burger is not a holiday 7. Slow down on salt and sugar, think more of ginger and turmeric 8. Eat suya, eat the vegetables, onions and tomatoes too, all join 9. Slow down on white bread, pasta, etc. Brown rice 👍 is Ofada rice brown? Does anyone know? 10. Have sex regularly. A blow job is not sex 11. Stretch, walk, move. Yoga is good. 12. Be happy, watch comedies, laugh 13. Have an emergency fund. Looking for urgent N10,000 on “Tuesday” will cause hypertension faster than salt. 14. Buy a plant, have a garden, sha touch soil once in a while 15. Be careful with the news you listen to, don't be naive, but don't dwell in the comfort of mockers 16. Fall in love, not mandatory but recommended. Yes, you can love the company of someone, all join. 17. Use deodorant, not Antiperspirants. 18. Guys, change your boxers daily, even if they do not smell. A beard has to be combed and maintained. It's not fallow land 19. Ladies, you also look beautiful without a wig or nail extensions, plus you save money 😉 20. Don't bleach your skin This is financial advice
