It’s an odd one because I fully get where Care is coming from and have a lot of time for that viewpoint. But then you look at a guy like Pierre Schoeman - the most Afrikaans guy you could imagine - who has so wholeheartedly and fully thrown himself into Scotland and embraced being Scottish. There’s no simple answers but I think it is odd to make special exemptions for certain players.

If youre a good miler and you go run a slow marathon because every else is, that is not stepping up. It is very much stepping down! Moving up in distance is not stepping up. We step up in performance. Running further is not a step up. Slow marathon to fast 10k = step up 🙌

I wish we saw runners doing races to suit their physiology, so they can experience what its like to do something very well! Everyone just goes to the marathon and ultras because they're popular and social - And its truly sad 😳
