Giant Tiger is part of Ottawa’s story. For 65 years, this proudly Canadian company has grown from a single storefront in the ByWard Market into a national retailer. I was proud to join members of the @GTboutique executive team, including Kevin Jackson, owner of Store #1, to celebrate this milestone and proclaim May 3rd, 2026 as Giant Tiger Day in Ottawa. It was great to be there with Councillor Stéphanie Plante, MP @MonaFortier, MPP @LucilleCollard, the @ByWardMarket_ District Authority and everyone who came out for the celebration. Giant Tiger fait partie de l’histoire d’Ottawa. Depuis 65 ans, cette entreprise fièrement canadienne est passée d’un seul magasin dans le marché By à une chaîne nationale, tout en restant profondément ancrée dans les communautés qu’elle sert. J’ai été fier de me joindre aux membres de l’équipe de direction de Giant Tiger, dont Kevin Jackson, propriétaire du magasin no 1, pour souligner cet anniversaire et proclamer le 3 mai 2026 comme la Journée Giant Tiger à Ottawa. C’était un plaisir d’être sur place avec la conseillère Stéphanie Plante, la députée Mona Fortier et la députée Lucille Collard, l’Autorité du district du Marché By, ainsi que toutes les personnes venues célébrer cet événement.
