For me … play the B team on Friday if it means it improves our chances of winning the final. The only thing that matters now is lifting a trophy this season .. everything else is noise. #avfc

Reflecting on VAR at weekend, for me it proves VAR adds no value. All it does is replace one subjective view with another. Key game outcomes are taken by faceless individuals in a TV Booth not on the field of play. All this whilst fans await an outcome, VAR is killing our game.

@Alex_Berwick Always spot on @Alex_Berwick. Did anyone not watch Thursdays game. Matty Cash deserves praise not criticism the guy carries one position on his back all season. No back up on or off the pitch tbf rarely drops lower than a 7/10 performance

Any marginal drop off, and we aren’t good enough. So 3 injuries, a ton of fatigue - interesting the teams behind who are sprinting to the finish haven’t played in Europe or bothered the cups - and a frustrating Jan & we’re nowhere near it. It’s not a surprise. #avfc

Pretty revealing this. And glad it’s been written. I sort of arrived at a place a while ago on Villa’s season. And where we are as a club. No one at Villa expects Rogers to be Nov / Dec Rogers. He’s playing in the hope he can provide a decisive moment. Why? #avfc

John McGinn is an anomaly in modern football. A player that cost so little when we were in the Championship that is now the captain and most important player in a Champions League chasing side in the Europa League final. For me, he IS a club legend 🟣🔵 #avfc

It’s funny that people are going back to a conspiracy theory that Villa would throw a game because we fielded the b-team, like many before us - wasn’t a crime when they did it though and scoreline was 1-2 btw, rather than call out Forest for not showing up last night. The issue is obviously that Spurs was the opposition. Anyway, sod all of you. We don’t care about being your villains, we are the Villans.. And we’re in a European final after 44 years x

@TyBracey I went into the PSG tie last year feeling like we were out but hoping we could put in a performance. We went 2-0 down and I thought it was over then we just turned it on out of nowhere. Hopefully we can just turn it on from minute one on Thursday. I’m going 3-1 to us

@KingGary1234 We’ve still had a good season despite the shit summer recruitment and restrictions we have. The only clubs you’d swap seasons with are Man City and Arsenal (if they win the league)

The toxic atmosphere at times this season is baffling. We’ve never been better, well not in my lifetime anyway…

@mattavfcc I don’t understand the negative fallout. I thought we were the better team. Without the pen it would have been 0-0 at worst.. we will beat them next week

@WhatTheForkAVFC It doesn’t actually change much if it was 0-0 or 1-0 down. We would still have to go back to Villa park and dominate to go through, I don’t really think it changes what Emery would have had in mind for the home leg.

Not being dragged into the panic and talking down the players etc, if it wasn’t for that moment it’d have been a 0-0 we’re talking to Villa Park because everything was pretty even. I prefer being the underdog anyway… UTV! 💜💙

@JasonTweets1980 We controlled nearly all the game. They had 2 moments. The save from Martinez and the penalty. Other than that they got no where near us.

If you looked at the league table it would be hard to explain Forest's position relatives to Villa's on this game. Lovely passing weight and direction from the team in red, just not the penetration that Villa at their best can achieve >

@TyBracey No point in losing control and then a bad pass, break, 2-0 down. That’s harder to over turn than 1-0. We just kept our attack controlled it didn’t pay off. We’re going to beat them next week

@Alex_Berwick I still have a lot of faith. Spurs and Burnley are still going to be wins for us. Europa is a different ball game we’ve actually played really well in the cup and we will just treat Forest the same as if it was any team across the competition. In Emery we trust

Can’t reply to all the angry messages I’ve got, so I’ll just say this. If we don’t get to the Europa Final, and if we don’t finish top 5, I’ll be disappointed. If we do both of those things, that’s a really great season. Plenty have lost at Fulham this season. #avfc

@StanCollymore Thought it was a typical Emery first half ‘we had to suffer’ second half he tweaked the game plan that gave us a lot more control in the middle. Watkins best game for a while held everything up, relentless running. You can see Onana has been tasked with taking on the Kamara role

If a team doesn’t do a huddle celebration when they score against Chelsea this season it will be a massively wasted opportunity.

@avfc_stef Have to admit we can’t be scared of letting people go if it means we can make huge improvements to the whole squad. Anything over £100m is a no brainer

I think we all know he’s likely off in the Summer for a HUGE fee. Might be the perfect time too as his hype is exceeding his ability right now Top player. Will have an excellent career. This Summer may well be the largest fee he ever goes for though #AVFC
