@bedrot_barbie @somanyspores I'll add on to this. In that moment he probably genuinely felt like his family didn't care. Ted was quiet, Karen wasn't letting him be involved with the search party (she had valid reason) and Nancy was actually be quite insensitive about Will going missing.

I think people overlook s1 Mike saying "I'm the only only who cares about Will". He knows Joyce and Jonathan care, he knows Dustin and Lucas care, he knows his family also cares about Will. What he's saying is that the way he cares is different from everybody else's.

@ode_to_icarus Let's be honest it was only El and Mike who ditched him. Lumax and Will stayed until the sun was completely gone in the summer, it most likely past 10 and genuinely had to make it home. He decided to hang out with Steve after thst and ignore Will's invitation.

Getting back to Dart. We get more proof in season 5 of Will's connection with the hive mind. So it would make sense that Will was the reason to call Dart off, but I guess the nature is nurture with Dart could be it too I guess. But I like the idea of it being Will more.
