Ducklings

As part of our project on Dinosaurs, we have planted a ‘Herbivore Garden’ outside today. We added Basil, Coriander, Parsley, Lavender and Rosemary with some lovely Spring Flowers @GrasmereAcademy

At the beginning of the term we found a BIG surprise in our garden. Something had made a nest and laid an egg! What could be inside?!

In Science we tested whether we could make an egg into a bouncy ball. It definitely didn’t work at first but I don’t think the children minded by the looks on their faces ☺️

We have been testing our partners in phonics. We definitely enjoy being the Teachers!

We were working hard in Maths with number bonds to 5 @GrasmereAcademy

We worked super hard on our mini outcome and created our own Dinosaur to display at the top of school 🦖 @GrasmereAcademy

We loved celebrating Diwali festival this week. We tried chapati, pakoras and Bhaji at snack time.

We have been learning all about plants this week. Reception enjoyed our investigation station. We used all of our senses and dissected different flowers to find the different parts. We learnt and used lots of new vocabulary! 💐

We enjoyed learning all about Van Gogh yesterday. We then had a go at some observational painting of some lovely Spring flowers 💐

We had lots of fun in Forest school this morning. We used our cartons to collect 10 special pieces of Natural Treasure. We found some lovely leaves, flowers, berries and Feathers @GrasmereAcademy

When learning about Weather, it is impossible not to take the opportunity to go and run in the fog this morning! “The grass is wet but its not raining!” @GrasmereAcademy

Reception have been working super hard in Maths. We are working through representing numbers. Today we focussed on the number 3 @GrasmereAcademy

We have started our Science project for this half term. We have started it off by looking at ‘The Tiny Seed’ story and explored how our seeds travelled outside in the wind 🌸🍁 @GrasmereAcademy

We had a wonderfully spooky time in Forest school this morning. We explored the Witches shed, flew on her brooms and found the dropped items from ‘The Room on the Broom’ story @GrasmereAcademy 🧙🏻‍♀️🎃
