Young adults in the LifeSet program have histories with foster care, juvenile justice, or other state systems. These youth face unique difficulties - such as trauma & mental health diagnoses, housing instability & economic hardship, & challenges in achieving educational outcomes

YV LifeSet pairs each participant with a specialist who helps them identify, navigate, & achieve goals. Together, the trusted specialists help youth tackle the highs & lows of growing up & ensure that the basics – stable & suitable housing, education, & life skills– are covered.

As #MentalHealthMonth and #FosterCareMonth come to a close, we spotlight one final organization - @youthvillages. Youth Villages LifeSet program (YV LifeSet) provides a vital resource to youth aging out of the foster & other state systems, putting them in the driver’s seat.

We selected WOW (of @YG_Boston) in response to the community #mentalhealth needs. Too many girls of color are exposed to traumatic experiences, like racism, violence, grief, & loss, leading to PTSD, anxiety, and depression. In 2019, 45% BPS girls felt sad or hopeless for 2+ weeks
