🆘🆘 PEACHES (ID 250024), 2 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 3/19/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- no time for animal. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 5/2/26 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 43 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ PEACHES IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 A volunteer writes: Peaches is a handsome boy only about two years old and he was brought to us when his owner could no longer care for him. One thing to know about Peaches is he absolutely loves treats, and I think that is the way of his heart. He is a bit timid right now so he ate treats that were next to my hand and gave my hand a few sniffs, however is not ready to be pet yet. He enjoyed to remain in the comfort of his cubby, while giving my hand a few sniffs and eating all of the treats I gave him. I think he is a cat that would appreciate someone who is willing to be patient with him and let him take things at his own pace. He is trying his best to be brave in this new environment and I can tell how badly he wants to interact, but he is a bit hesitant to do so. Peaches tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter and may be intimidated by small children. I don't want to assume, but I imagine there's an insurmountable kind of tinge to them only exacerbated by Joe's dedication to doing it all on his own. Joe came to us from a home with other cats and may prefer to do things this way as he also may not have a lot of experience meeting new people. We keep trying to explain that though we are new people, we also have treats, toys, blankets, and beds to offer. For his part, Joe seems almost entirely uninterested except not quite as he's adorably a little curious about treats. When it comes to making new friends or finding a forever family, we understand that Joe might have to try it his way first, we're just hoping that his forever family will love and appreciate his efforts as they welcome him into their home. 🆘🆘 BATMAN (ID 252191), 8 YO, MALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 4/15/2026, with the surrender reason stated as animal health - will need ongoing vet care. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 5/2/26 ➡️ SENIOR ALERT ➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE – IN FELINE ICU😱😱😱 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 16 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ BATMAN IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - Batman is a friendly cat who was surrendered due to their owner being unable to address their medical condition. Batman was diagnosed with a left hindlimb fracture that was not repairable, so an amputation was performed. Batman has been constipated since his arrival to the shelter and has needed medication to aid his defecation. Batman also has a heart murmur of unknown origin. Batman will need daily maintenance with their medical condition and further follow up with outside vet care. Batman is very sweet and seeks attention during their exams. This evaluation/diagnosis means that BATMAN will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: Batman interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience, or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior. We've assured Chirop that there's nothing he could've done differently, but we also know that to feel welcomed and wanted is a beautiful thing. It's in what we do rather than what we say, so we've been offering treats to begin a friendship and small pets here and there to build his confidence and understanding that things are going to work out just fine. Chirop only needs a little chance and is hoping you'll extend a chance and some love his way. What my friends at ACC say about me: I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. 🆘🆘 MIZUKY (ID 249984), 2 YO, FEMALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an agency on 3/18/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 5/2/26 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 44 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ MIZUKY IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She has a bite/scratch history and continues signs of overstimulation during interactions. She is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for her mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! Mizuky is sitting at the front of kennel pawing at the door. When the kennel is opened, she greets the assessor with a high question mark tail and tries to head bunt her way out. Mizuky is distracted with dry treats. Mizuky then sniffs the assessor's hand and leans in hard for cheek rubs. She allows all petting. When pet along body her tail begins to swish moderately. Mizuky is slightly tense during pick up, but after being set down, comes forward to solicit more cheek pets. When the kennel is closed, she remains sitting at the front, looking at the assessor with soft almond eyes. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻 NEEDS OUT OF SHELTER ASAP – Please RT or pledge, if you can, to save this little one. @AdamsPaulGrimke 💔😿🙏Thank you
