Igår började jag min utbildning till undersköterska och det första de gör är att tala om att första veckan ska bestå av ”teambuilding” med lekar, hopp och skoj. Som om vi vore en flock dagisbarn som måste aktiveras för att inte börja tugga på möblerna. Jag är 37 år. Jag är där för att bli kompetent inom vård, inte för att bli förnedrad i någon HR-cirkus där vuxna människor förväntas låtsasleka för att passa in. Det är provocerande hur utbildningssystemet samtidigt kräver ansvar, disciplin och professionalism och i nästa andetag behandlar oss som socialt inkompetenta barn som måste tvingas in i ”gemenskap” genom tramsiga övningar. Om jag vill lära känna mina kurskamrater gör jag det genom arbete, samtal och respekt, inte genom att bli kommenderad att hålla någon främling i handen och hoppa i ring. Jag har inte sökt mig till vården för att delta i gruppterapi eller skolgympa. Jag har sökt mig dit för att lära mig ett yrke som bokstavligen handlar om människors liv och värdighet. Om utbildningen vill ha mitt engagemang kan den börja med att behandla mig som den vuxna människa jag är.
