Tricky Reds

I've just gone through all 41 of his PL goals: — 23 (~56%) put Arsenal in a drawn/winning state (green) — 12 (~29%) put Arsenal in a 2+ goal state or brought them from -2 to -1 (blue) — 6 (~15%) don’t fall into either category, essentially statpad/pure consolation goals (yellow)

@GoodmanBurner True, his first 2 seasons at the club he was playing a ss role in possession. First season with any sort of role in deeper possesion and even then it's a mess there between him, Zubi and Ø. Constantlly stepping on eachothers toes.

@GunnersGalactic He hasnt developed those aspects cuz the role he has been used in for majority of his Arsenal career encourages his carry first tendencies

Needs to understand that ball travels faster than man. At times (1:15 here), he is too reliant on his carry & doesnt back himself to pass which means we dont progress it quite efficiently. Necessary evolution cuz there will be a time where he wont have that PNP advantage.

Declan Rice vs Sporting (A) Monster 🫡

Could literally have 2 flying Fb, and complete rotation between the front 5 and concede under 35pl goals, maybe even less if the attack becomes to lethal for teams to want to attack.

Raya, Saliba, Gabriel, Rice is a ridiculous defensive spine. Wish Arteta realised the defence he built so that he'd attack more freely.

As soon as he get's and attacking coach that puts him CF/SS or as a proper inside forward, he's gonna explode for a 30+ goal all comps season.

Don't know how people can watch what Martinelli has done in the UCL this season and not see a special special player.

He is built for these moments.

Martinelli under a good coach would be top 2 UCL top scorer and a POTT favourite.

But obviously those are the stock lineups for big games. But you have to rotate the lineup to keep guys fresh.

Then once Eze is back you can use Dowman as an impact player off the bench (can't overplay Dowman like we have done Saka)

So much gets talked about Martinelli, but in the biggest games he shows up. A true big game player.

@beca_yvan This year and last have been great opportunities to win the UCL. Top European teams are so weak right now in comparison to a decade ago. But he's probably gonna play the same lineup week in week out and the players will be physically finished for a 2 leg tie against Barca.

It makes a lot of sense to fully focus on it considering the draw we’ve had in the CL this year. Going for both PL and CL requires smart squad management though.
