During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Chris Jericho reflected on his time working with Vince McMahon in WWE...
"I never thought he would step down. I think had those other issues come up, there is no way he would have. Also, Vince is also smart and I bet he was like, 'Okay, I'm at the point now where it's not good for me to be here.' He trained, groomed, Triple H for 20 years and probably felt confident enough that things were going to continue without him.
I say this all the time in AEW, I think everybody could use six months working for Vince McMahon. That's where you really understand what the wrestling business is and how the business works. I loved working with him, I loved going head-to-head with him and creating ideas, debating ideas, arguing ideas. He always used to say, 'I'm not here to teach you wrestling lessons, I'm here to teach you life lesson.' He did. He taught me a lot of life lessons. The guy is a really f*cking cool guy, from my experiences with him. Not easy to deal with, an asshole sometimes, but he's your boss, you're not supposed to be friends with your boss all the time, but you can still get on a private jet and drink for four hours listening to the Stones."
true power is when you talk about something like pro wrestling or MMA, and almost everyone will say WWE for Pro Wrestling or UFC for MMA. true brand building power. when you talk about American Football, NFL. true brand recognition!
what did that dude that always tries me said? lol. TNA could be sold for sure. that person thought cause of some OVW thing that TNA wasn't possibly gonna sell to someone. lul.
Sources: Anthem’s Len Asper has set a $30M floor for a potential sale of @ThisIsTNA, w/ his preferred price in the $40M - $50M range. The premium reflects toxic debt on Anthem’s books that any buyer would be expected to absorb. No deal is imminent, but the number is out there.
Part of what underpins that price: TNA’s TV deal with @AMC_TV includes guaranteed money now plus option years that could raise its value down the line. AMC also holds right of first refusal on TNA’s next media rights negotiation. That ROFR is the wrinkle. A buyer isn’t just pricing TNA Wrestling. They’re pricing a television deal they don’t fully control going forward, and Asper’s guaranteed AMC revenue alone gets him most of the way to his floor.
Worth the history. In 2024, a group led by Scott D’Amore offered roughly $10M, including assumption of TNA’s debts, valuing the company between $7M and $12M, respectively. Anthem rejected it outright, no counter.
Whether that gap is real growth (AMC, international deals, additional sponsor revenue) or Asper betting the market has changed more than it has, is the question.
We’ll find out when someone actually bids.
Really sad and pathetic how you anti WWE people call it the fed. how tribalistic yall are. and you are a lefty huh? you do know a lot of people in AEW side with the right? like the bucks. and the khans donated to trump. :O @Katherine_973x
