If and when the Russians ever push into Poland, for example through Belarus, many Poles will quickly forget all this nonsense and will be hoping that Ukrainian brigades and corps—not just wearing the insignia of the UPA Heroes, but even bearing the name of Stepan Bandera—come to their aid. At that point, all of this inflammatory rhetoric will disappear. The fact that some people in Poland are now harassing Ukrainians will ultimately have consequences. As soon as another European country—or Ukraine itself after the war—offers good conditions for living and working, many Ukrainians will leave Poland. And much of Poland's economic success will suffer, because Ukrainian workers have made a significant contribution to building it. It's time for Polish politicians to reverse the direction of their rhetoric.
