@zunda1376024 @dir4ct_c A character doesn't necessarily need to grow for a character arc to be fulfilled, just change, which Ryoshu definetly did. Also, growth doesn't have to be instantaneous, and it clearly isn't in her case.

@HOTRAMEN @dir4ct_c And yes I know she...progressed in C9 I guess, because she existed in the story and did things, its inevitable, but she didnt grow as a person, which is key for character writing, especially for a franchise/game based on facing your mental hells to grow (paraphrasing PM here)

are we finally getting ryoshu's canto

@zunda1376024 @dir4ct_c Yes? Ryoshu was in distress after escaping the HoS desperately trying to find a plan to save Araya. Obviously her personallity wouldn't be the exact some time down the line.

@HOTRAMEN @dir4ct_c Between who Ryoshu is when she meets Faust and who she is at the start of Limbus, with only weeks or months inbetween, egotistical, unwarranted aggresiveness, aloof, her art shtick, etc. None of this was there when she escaped the HOS so when the hell did it happen? (2/3)

Things can be revealed during a sinners Canto. It was never mentioned that Donqui was a 2nd kindred before MotWE either

@zunda1376024 @dir4ct_c But her character was used. We clearly see how Ryoshu's traits developed because of the Nursefathers and/or Araya. Just because it wasn't outright stated doesn't mean it didn't happen. As for the no development, her character arc clearly progressed in some manner

@HOTRAMEN @dir4ct_c I thought it was lacking how much of her character was used (most known character traits were non existant in her past and it wasnt shown how they were developed later either), what agency she was given and how she was developed (no development)

@no1doomsoldier @dir4ct_c Ryoshu's main trait was never her art. That's just her surface level appearance. All the nursefathers connect back to her and we can see how she developed all her traits from them. Do you think Ryoshu's character arc was not fulfilled or developed because of the other sinners?

@HOTRAMEN @dir4ct_c it is her canto on paper but it's treatment feels more like an episode within limbus than ryoushu episode if that makes sense. Like ryoushu main trait being her art isn't even included because of the bloat that she is the first to get a dedicated intervalo post canto

@imageswithpayd1 Is it ever mentioned that she forgets anything other than Araya? I do agree that her dropping her smoking would have been a nice development, but that's nowhere near making Canto 9 "not Ryoshu's Canto".

@HOTRAMEN i'd just have her not forget the events of the canto i think thats the biggest bummer for me. I thought her dropping her smoking would of been a really compelling choice if it was kept since it did show her dropping what she got from growing up with the nursefathers

@DocTuxito @dir4ct_c None of those 3 reveals would happen in an intervallo, the stakes wouldn't be high enough (not to mention no voice acting). What more story did Ryoshu need?

@HOTRAMEN @dir4ct_c Too many plotlines for the amount of chapters, that had dialogue, it had. My solution is with the LCD, Roach Emperor Gregor, and Future Sinclair cut one of those plotlines out of the canto and use for the intervallo and use that time for more Ryoshu story. 👍
