@qntm Yeah, the 'can't tell you anything about it' schtick has always seemed a bit misleading - adore the game, but it's not like some twisty, wrong-footing thing

I mean yes I can't tell you why you should play Outer Wilds except that it's an intricate, heavily story-driven single puzzle the size of a solar system which you play in a rocket ship with realistic Newtonian mechanics

@zunguzungu Which is to say, I don't think you want to replace Logan in the narrative, because Logan is the narrative, even after his death.

@zunguzungu Her non-playerness is what works about her, I reckon - she's the ostensible alternative to Logan, but just offers a different, more passive kind of awful parenting, pushing them back to the endless tease of the daddy drama.

another nuclear take about Succession that I have is that it wastes its women. Holly Hunter or a better version of Kerry should have been the final season Big Bad for the kids; the show goes slack when you lose the Daddy drama, so replace it with Mom

@zunguzungu The daddy drama is still there though, at least in the better post-Logan episodes (the only real offender being the Living+ one, which mistakenly puts him onscreen again). Also, Harriet Walter!

Watched the Barry finale, and my thoughts are: 1) Bill Hader is a god among directors, and 2) whatever he does next, it needs to either have a script by someone else, or a topic about which there is even the slightest thing still left to say.

Prompted by this trailer, a question from an idiot (me): why DON'T cinemas do intermissions for long films? Is there a reason? I'd have thought, along with giving the audience a chance to stretch/piss, it works out well financially because during the break they buy more stuff.

@ChaoticTortoise Yes! Very keen for it just to become a genre - all other detective things I've tried have been very lacking on the deductive front.
