UEFA and Liverpool are investigating after Galatasaray’s Noa Lang suffered a right thumb injury, leaving him needing surgery, after cutting it in a collision with the advertising hoardings at Anfield. Galatasaray confirmed early on Thursday morning in a statement that the attacker had a “serious cut” and would undergo an operation via their medical team before leaving the city. Lang later posted on social media that “surgery went well”, saying “sh– happens”. Liverpool plan to investigate what exactly happened during the incident which caused the injury and wish Lang a full and speedy recovery.
