I see some people upset that FireRed and LeafGreen are $20. I’m not sure what people expected, but that’s exactly what I thought or at least hoped they would charge. In the back of my head I worried they might try $30 each.
TPC was never going to add mainline games to NSO. Nor would you ever catch them devaluing any generation to $10 or less. Pokemon is the world’s largest IP, or at least one of the largest. They like to make money.
They released Scarlet and Violet in a near broken state and sold 25m+ copies. They like to make money. Their plushies costs more than other brands plushies. Their card packs have increased in price over other TCG’s. They charge you just to store more than 30 pokemon on Home.
I’m not sure people understand who and what TPC is. There was zero chance these games dropped sub $20 each.
Do I think they should be cheaper? Absolutely. Will they be cheaper? No. Will they sell millions and millions of copies? Yes.
Pokemon fans know what they signed up for. To many of them, this will be worth it in the end just due to home support.
It’s like that for me with Zelda. I love it so much, yes I would have paid $100 for ToTK. But it’s probably the only IP I would do that for consistently.
So I get it. I’m just not shocked today because I was worried it would be even higher.

@LukeCB14 I was already worried that the next year of dlc was going to reflect this current year and nothing would fundamentally change in a meaningful way
But after this announcement I cannot see this as a positive when it looks like theyre once again playing catch up with themselves

Our next Major Update, Destiny 2: Shadow and Order, is undergoing large revisions and will be delayed. This update is being changed and expanded to include sizable quality-of-life updates and as a result, will also be renamed. This update will now launch on June 9, 2026. We will provide exact details closer to release covering previously announced Weapon Tier Upgrading, but also additions like expanding Tiered Gear to all Raid and Dungeon activities, Pantheon 2.0, Tier 5 stats for Exotic Armors, and more. Through June, we will continue to have routine bug fixes and stability improvements, continued portal modifiers, Guardian Games (March), and the return of a more frequent Iron Banner cadence (April). In terms of communications, we will be focusing on providing you with updates about our live game content, community activations, and general upkeep through the TWID and our Destiny social channels. Interesting that theyre pushing for more aggressive kill based gameplay. This was never really needed in an environment that was designed to reward you for turf play, for the most part. Unless they plan to make kills part of the “objective” im not sure what theyre trying to do.
