@ukeastcoast And then you’ve got the year following with what you will find a second wheat under yielding just due to the damage from the Beet two years previous. My estimations over 6 years of analysis measured 2.7t/ha reduction

I’ve tried the new defender. It’s clearly an awesome vehicle. Not sure about my back attaching trailer with rear wheel on tailgate. But I reckon the disco 4 design is in many ways more practical, more spacious, a smaller footprint and as economical. Great work and family vehicle!

I’ve seen it year on year and despite weather the dates remain constant. Before then dirty crops. After 7th we can be much cleaner. Also plus for septoria/ aphids etc

The old argument: to cover crop or not?! A trial in year 5 on our clay soils is not giving me much enthusiasm. #LockdownLearning

I’m truly excited about dd just haven’t quite got the b......s to deal with the risk of not drilling land in the autumn.. too many bills to pay and now hindsight following two difficult autumns.

However i’ve come across farmers making a great success of notill on very heavy and unfriendly soils ........ the very last person i would ask how to farm is a scientist!

@driverfarms1 @cutlerstom @loweroddfarm @Jes_Squirrell @MaddeverAndrew @TWBFarms @wheat_daddy I think it was down to the massive rain event on 17th June which flooded our house and gave us a harvest all round..nothing to do with skill.. and also maybe a contributing factor was we had half a tonne of your Planet seed! The dd though was mostly Laureate vs cult Planet..

We did about half with Terrano/ pronto that did 9 t/ha and the other half ish with dd pronto NT which was into rock hard conditions and should never have really made it and that managed 7.5t/ha but I think we need to remember the rain in June which saved our bacon

What difference does that really make to overheads if its sitting there 20years old or more? Less so than 2 spanking new drills for 2 different scenarios probably 🤷‍♂️ up 2 the individual to control cost

Last two years have seen one pass at differing depths 3 inch to 10 inch with Terrano and cover crop in places then drill with either pronto dc or Megant. Can’t see dd

Hanslope clay is good at restructuring but loves Blackgrass still good for dd. Some Ragdale series not so good for dd. I would love to dd for the proposed margin but suspect the guaranteed methods of slightly more intense

Can anyone please let me know of a mapping service where I can get a good quality farm map down for our office wall? Mostly management purposes but also would want to frame it..
