I know I get a lot of stick on here. Every time I post, there is always somebody ready to take a shot. But here’s the truth: I’m just being me. I’m not pretending to be perfect, I’m far from it. I’m a normal fella who works hard, loves his family, and tries to do right by others. I’ve made loads of mistakes and I’m sure I’ll make loads more. I love my wife. I love my kids with everything I’ve got. I love a proper bit of grub. I love a cheeky pint on a Friday with my mates. I work hard, I graft every single day, and I always try to help people when I can. And yes, I love England. That has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with pride. And love for where I am from. I’m proud to be British. And when I speak up about wanting our country to be better, i ain’t doing it to try and divide people. It’s to remind us that we can be better. That we deserve better. I try to bring a bit of positivity on social media, to show people that if you dig deep and keep going, life can turn around. But I get it……. I really do. Some people are hurting. Angry. Struggling. They see someone like me, who’s got a lovely life now, and maybe they feel jealous or frustrated. And if you want to take that out on me…..do it…..trust me, I can take it. You can call me what you want. You can throw all the names under the sun at me. You won’t break me. You won’t stop me. You won’t knock me off my path. Because I’ve been at rock bottom. I’ve slept on a floor. I’ve lived with nothing. I’ve cried when no one was watching. I’ve felt worthless. I’ve been there. I know what it feels like when the whole world is against ya. But I never gave up. I got up, every single time. And I built a life I’m proud of and not through luck, not through handouts. but through hard graft, heart, self belief and a bit of hope. So if you’re struggling right now, listen to me… Don’t give up. You might feel lost. You might feel broken. You might feel like the world’s against you. But you are stronger than you think. Use that pain. Use that fire. And when you’ve got no one else to believe in you….I promise you this, I believe in you. I’ll keep pushing forward, not just for me, but for you. To prove that you can rise up. You can make something of your life. You can be proud of who you are. So scream at me if you need to. I can handle it. But know this. I am behind you and I am rooting for you. Because we’re in this together. Stay strong. Stay proud. Keep going. You are loved. You are worth it. And your story isn’t finished yet. Good night. In 4 days, I’ll walk the London Marathon carrying 20kg, the same weight my son Hugh was in this video . Hugh died of cancer just two weeks after this video, which was his 6th birthday. Here he is blowing out his last ever candle. There should have been many more 💔 20kg is heavy. But not as heavy as watching your child die. Not as heavy as holding them through chemo. Not as heavy as living every day without them. I never imagined this would be my life as a dad. But it is. And now I walk for Hugh and for every family shattered by childhood cancer.
