74 years ago today my dad (and millions of others) was living in poverty with no bath, running hot water or inside toilet. With the birth of the NHS he was given this card, and with it amazing free healthcare and the hope of a much better world. #HappyBirthdayNHS

Met a very vulnerable 23 year old pregnant lass this week, she was found sleeping in park in #Newcastle. She came to the UK to find work, was unsuccessful, unable to return home because of her pregnancy. We have secured a room for her in our hostel & will support her to find work

Just witnessed a patient being asked to produce proof of identity before being registered at a GP. I reminded the receptionist that this is not a prerequisite given that some people have no fixed abode & just as deserving of equitable access to a GP. Sigh.. @DrUrsulaM @NikkiKF
