As @_HannahRitchie says we aren't doing well enough with Heat pump adoption in the UK, yet. That's why we are offering tools for consumers+installers to help support heat pump adoption in our glowmarkt.com site - based on smart meter data, with support from @energygovuk

Heat pumps are our best shot at decarbonising heating. The UK is doing very badly on this. But the rest of Europe is showing that: 1. It can be done 2. They work in colder climates than ours

Brilliant performance - and great to see data being shared which is what we are doing with our new glowmarkt.com site as we try to support heat pump adoption through data and peer to peer learning.

It's official, my air source heat pump has been installed for exactly 12 months! 1978kWh electricity consumed, 8359kWh of heat delivered, SCOP of 4.23 which results in half the running cost of my existing bottled propane combi boiler and 30% less than mains gas 👍

@HildebrandTech there’s something wrong with the cost data in the Bright app. Day rate seems to be getting doubled. Night rate timing is off by an hour. Time zone and rate info look correct. Any ideas?

@TheRealRevK The hildebrand / glow / glowmarket stuff is great (apart from the confusing and mixed up branding). Jane emailed me a couple of months ago to say that there will soon be a simpler interface unit without a display. although it won’t be much cheaper it will have better availability

How do I get data from my smart meter (SMETS2) into a computer?! Can I buy a "consumer access device" which bridges between the smart meter and a PC? Ultimately, I want to read the data from a Python script. Or do I have to point a camera at the in-home display & use OCR?!
