What is happening now in France is one of the most insane climate event ever! 😲😱 It's a heatwave... in May! 🥵 36-37°C could be reached several days in a row... 34°C in Brittany. It's 15°C ABOVE NORMAL We are still in f**** spring!
Dr. Serge Zaka (Dr. Zarge)@SergeZaka

Wildlife and Countryside Link
Flea treatments are polluting rivers and harming wildlife in the process. When products designed to help our pets are damaging the natural world, something needs to change. Matt Shardlow, ecological expert and environmental consultant, explores these themes in an independent review. Read the blog here: wcl.org.uk/flea-treatment…

Now there's a very, very good question. Thames Water have now admitted that they are not treating (dousing) their sewage for phosphate due to a "supply issue". That by the way has a massive and negative impact on water quality and aquatic life. Funny they didn't mention any of that until they were called out on it. How many other WCs I wonder are having supply issues?
Paul Jennings@PJennings88

The @RiverChess test the Chess for phosphate levels and surprised to discover levels of up 1.99ppm at the @thameswater Chesham STW. A spokesman said “Due to a supply issue affecting one of the treatment chemicals" they were unable to fully treat effluent. Reported to @EnvAgency

You can smell the net zero scam. It was never about ‘saving the planet’ We get higher bills, petrol car bans, carbon taxes and heat pumps… Whilst AI datacentres are preparing to burn gas on site because the grid can’t cope with demand. fossil fuels are unacceptable for us… but perfectly fine for Big Tech server farms powering our digital prison 🔥

Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS)
Another beautiful Honey Buzzard shot in Lebanon is part of a massive ecological crisis: 2.6M birds are poached there yearly. Forced through narrow mountain corridors, these slow-breeding raptors are targeted by illegal shooters for ‘fun’ - wiping out entire European populations.

#Birds What do you think about this? British-owned beef giant CPC has been granted a permit to poison and kill 20,000 native galahs and little corellas at one of their vast cattle stations in the NT, Australia. In its permit application, CPC admits its practices created the problem: “grain production, on-site storage, and cattle feeding have provided an artificial food source.” Ornithologist Dr Lilleyman was "shocked" to learn of the NT government's decision to grant the permit. She said that Birdlife Australia is concerned about the potential for secondary poisoning of non-target species occurring close to "an internationally significant wetland". CPC has ten cattle stations on about 9 million acres. They supply cattle and beef to Asian markets, domestic feedlots and processors, and export live cattle. The company is owned by Guy and Julia Hands through the Hands Family Office. They live in Guernsey after leaving England to avoid UK tax. CPC has also applied for massive water licenses for irrigation projects to grow grain sorghum and other crops which will inevitably attract even more birds. So what happens then? Even wider-scale poisoning of native wildlife?

Good news theguardian.com/environment/20… some PFAS chemicals have dropped in Canadian seabirds. Good (a) less suffering for birds (b) it shows regulation works. But with 1000s of effectively unregulated types of PFAS only a ban on the class (with essential use exceptions) will work.
