Interaction with students at “VAKTAVYA 2026” programme organised by Hindu College, Delhi University: Highlights: “Pratibha Setu” portal, designed to connect with potential employers, such UPSC aspirants who reach advanced stages of the examination process but somehow don't make it.  The platform allows verified candidate profiles to be accessed by organisations, creating opportunities for those who may not make it to final selections but possess strong capabilities. Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR), stating that it marks a major milestone in India's journey towards self- reliant Energy Security. The reactor uses plutonium with liquid sodium as coolant, ensuring higher energy output with lower input. AI to become integral to governance and daily life, must be used as an enabler. 50% StartUps from Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities, reflecting democratisation of opportunities".

The talk highlighted novel genomic sequences in indigenous cattle, advancing research for sustainable genetic resource management toward #ViksitBharat2047.

Dr. Sarwar Azam, scientist at BRIC-NIAB, Hyderabad delivered a lead lecture on “Beyond the Reference Genome: Exploring Novel Sequences in Indian Desi Cattle” at the National Symposium & XXIII SOCDAB Convention (ICAR-NBAGR, Karnal) on April 9, 2026.

Lively interaction with a group of school children from #JammuAndKashmir, currently in Delhi, as a part of “Watan Ko Jano" itinerary. Hon'ble Vice-President of India, Thiru C.P. Radhakrishnan ji graced the occasion. Explained to them how the  last one decade has been a decade of transformation for J&K with new opportunities emerging for youth. J&K youth can certainly be the torchbearers of India's growth story in coming years.  Acquainted these children with PM @NarendraModi's high level of sensitivity towards J&K. These youngsters may not be aware that in 2014, PM Modi had spent his first Diwali as Prime Minister with the flood victims in the Kashmir Valley.

My remarks after releasing two NITI Aayog reports on easing research and development processes: "The @narendramodi government has taken a series of enabling steps including opening up sectors such as Space and Nuclear Energy to private players and creating dedicated mechanisms like the RDI fund. Private sector too should accelerate its participation in R&D activities. Ease of Research calls for systemic reforms with a change of mindset. Focus has to be on improving funding access, reducing bottlenecks and encouraging philanthropy".

Good News for Deep-tech followers: The "National Quantum Mission" launched by PM @NarendraModi in 2023, has achieved 1,000 km secure communication milestone in less than 3 years, even though it's target was to achieve 2,000 km secure communication capability in 8 years. Moving on fast track, Quantum Mission has also increased it's #StartUp tally from 8 to 17 within a short span of time, with 9 new deep-tech ventures. The newly StarUps are working on areas ranging from quantum biosensors for disease detection and photon sensing technologies to quantum positioning systems, atomic memory and precision electronic systems. The newly supported startups include Sense-XT, ORVISSEMI, QuBeats, Quantum AI Global, bloq, GDQLabs, Quantum Biosciences, Bumble Bee Instruments Pvt. Ltd., and SAS Qute Electronics Pvt. Ltd. At the same time, for the first of it's kind Rs 1 lakh crore Research Development Innovation (RDI) Fund rolled out by the government to accelerate the private sector, the Technology Development Board (TDB) has received over 100 proposals within two months of issuing a call, indicating growing industry interest. The initiative seeks to ensure both innovation and scalability in emerging sectors such as 6G, advanced manufacturing, space technologies and biotechnology.

After the success of Aroma Mission, the #FloricultureMission launched by the #CSIR is also registering one success after the other. Close on the heels of Tulip success, the “Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology” #IHBT #Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first in the country to develop a comprehensive agrotechnology package for unique flower growth #Peony (Paeonia lactiflora). This breakthrough opens new avenues for high-value floriculture, especially in India’s high-hill regions, boosting farmers’ income and sustainable agricultural growth.

#Kishtwar DISHA meeting Highlights: Announced Permanent Seismological Observatory for Kishtwar for Earthquake Monitoring and Disaster Preparedness. Site selection being undertaken under Ministry of Earth Sciences for installation of exclusive Automated Weather Stations at Paddar and Machail respectively, particularly in view of the unprecedented catastrophe experienced last year. Instructed for expediting land acquisition  proposal to set up Airport at Kishtwar under #UDAN scheme. Called for early finalisation of land for establishing Saffron Park which stood already approved by the Central Government.

Regarding  Sudhmahadev Tunnel, clarified that reports about stoppage of work were incorrect, new work tender to be floated soon. Link Roads from village Kalota and village Humbal to NH44 being taken up on priority; road construction  to Mata Dedani Shrine to be expedited to facilitate the devotees. Issued directions for PPP Model for operationalisation of Post Harvest Management Unit at High Altitude Medicine Centre, #Bhaderwah.
