Last night we held an unforgettable fundraiser at BMO Stadium-where my LAFC Major League Soccer team plays, in support of Morehouse President F. Dubois Bowman, Morehouse graduate 92’, and his vision to lead Morehouse College into the future. My company @Sodexomagic and I had the privilege of hosting Morehouse alums from across the country as they gathered to hear from current students, faculty, and President Bowman about Morehouse’s expansion and impact. A special thanks to my main men Samuel L. Jackson and Dr. Tony Calloway for expressing what Morehouse meant to them and the lasting legacy it’s left on their lives. I would also like to thank Judge Kevin Ross, Actress Tiffany Haddish, Actor Glynn Turman - who recently received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, MLB Hall of Famer Dave Winfield, Actress Vanessa Bell Calloway, Actress Holly Robinson Peete, Former NBA Player Stan Washington, Music Mogul Michael Mauldin and all of the extraordinary businessmen and women from LA and other parts of the country for being in attendance. And wow - I was so impressed and moved by the incredible Morehouse students, including a Rhodes scholar. It was amazing to hear their stories as they inspired us all to support the new leaders of this generation.

Assata Shakur, of the Black Panther Party and the Black Liberation Army, has died at the age of 78 in Cuba, where she received political asylum in 1984.
