@yamana2427 That sucks. I gave up on flying lessons when I realized I’m not into nearly dying. Life showed me it was a good choice. I’ve only flown with one private pilot. He was a bit crazy, but a great flyer.

@mirojurcevic @BenWilsonTweets This is Awesome. I wanted one so bad, but by that time Apple’s top of the line was out of my reach. As far as the ‘without Steve’ line, oh hush up, you are awesome. I am now 1° separation from Steve Jobs. Thanks for replying. 🫡

Steve Jobs on Rules: “The system is that there is no system. That doesn't mean we don't have process. Apple is a very disciplined company, and we have great processes. But that's not what it's about. Process makes you more efficient. But innovation comes from people meeting up in the hallways or calling each other at 10:30 at night with a new idea, or because they realized something that shoots holes in how we've been thinking about a problem. It's ad hoc meetings of six people called by someone who thinks he has figured out the coolest new thing ever and who wants to know what other people think of his idea. And it comes from saying no to 1,000 things to make sure we don't get on the wrong track or try to do too much.”

Getting easier and easier to identify the communists. Bernie Sanders and AOC are pushing hard on stopping AI advancement for us plebes. Altman, the Anthropic guy Dario Amodei, Demis Hassabis at google's DeepMind, and Zuck seem to be all over this and supporting it. The masses shall only have approved AI. We have to Fight. Fight. Fight. Right to bear compute — or we lose it. From my cold, dead fingers on the keyboard, etc…
boisselle@seanboisselle

The right to bear compute needs to be enshrined in the amendments to the US Constitution, else the big labs may lobby to ban local AI.

I think the coming few years are going to be hard for the big tech companies, therefore hard for all of us. It won’t just be data leaks, it will be scams, phishing, and out-and-out asset theft. Also things like energy distribution disruptions. There is going to be a heavy price we all pay so that the investors could get rich quick. My attitude is ‘f*ck them.’

Anthropic is giving some tech companies first access to Mythos so they can retrofit their existing systems against cyber attacks. The funny part is that these tech companies laid off all the people that could have been spending time retrofitting their systems.

Buddy of mine was legit just an ugly motherfucker (just unlucky) Dating success was a mess Said fuck this, this is just a horrible overall experience at around age 27 Got a bunch of plastic surgery done Hair, jaw, ears, nose, whole package Took like a year or so, mfer looked like a mummy for most of it Now literally a different person. Went from a 2/10 to 8+/10 Absolutely SLAYING Tinder, dating now "too much of a distraction" I really dont support plastic surgery But UNDOUBTEDLY this was the single best decision of his fucking life by a nautic mile (and most his buddies, including me, were very skeptical about the decision) Tbh I'm a bit conflicted on the whole looksmaxxing topic since then It is what it is 🤷‍♂️

@mirojurcevic @BenWilsonTweets I would love to know what the idea was. I have been following Jobs and Macintosh since 1984. Apple really did make it the year that 1984 wasn’t going to be 1984.

@BenWilsonTweets I approached a tech company to pitch an idea and I couldn’t even get a 5 minute meeting. I sent the idea to Steve and he put it into production. The innovation loop relies on someone who is open minded enough to deal with outsiders.

“He’s a good horseman and stockman, and he respects all animals. If he needs to be firm, he won’t back down. He is respectful to ladies and kind and gentle to children. He believes in his Savior. He has never worked by the hour because being a cowboy is a lifestyle, not a job. He is a leader, does right and never fears man. We are slowly losing the real cowboy. We are accustomed to thinking of space as exorbitantly expensive to reach. That is because we are at the bottom of a deep gravity well. It takes 20x less energy to reach orbit from the Moon. Lunar settlement means we can start building orbital infrastructure at scale. Things become possible that were formerly inconceivable. People don't realize how dramatically this could improve our lives.

Important read. “Simply put, developing the Moon makes the entirety of the Solar System, with all its resources, directly available to those who live on Earth.” I am one of those who is excited by "the human drive for exploration" or "mankind finding his destiny among the stars" or "beating X other country to the Moon". The reasons for going abound, now is the time. 🫡

@martianwyrdlord @StephenFleming It's still nowhere near the potential of Mars. Ignoring Mars is exponentially worse than throwing the yellow rocks back into Sutters creek. The moon may distract from the greatest resource potential in human history. The future will see us as fools for not making such a leap.
