Volusia County Schools is continuing to closely monitor Hurricane Milton in collaboration with Volusia County Emergency Management. The storm is expected to bring winds, heavy rain and potential flooding to our area starting on Wednesday. To allow staff and families additional time to prepare for the storm, 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐎𝐜𝐭. 𝟖, 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲. All schools will let out one hour earlier than usual, at which time students and staff may leave. All after-school activities, except for Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP), will be canceled on Tuesday. A curfew has been announced for Volusia County beginning at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9., and lasting until 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, to discourage unnecessary traffic during the height of the storm.
