Arthur Nwankwo, cerebral and bold, he was one of the NADECO operatives who faced the fearful odds here at home and refused to go on exile. Publisher of the Outlook Newspaper and founder of the Easter Mandate Union, he was later imprisoned by Abacha and was released on his death.

June 12 was one of the most fraudulent elections in Nigeria but NADECO fraudsters painted it as the best as they control the media then. Thank God now for social media no one will give us same narrative down our throats. Their media weapons were Concord, Tribune,Tell, the News etc

@SchroedingerImm @Admiral_Cyborg Yes, you are entitled to suggest that Kola did not manage his father's wealth properly. However, the issue on ground is about Tinubu snitching on the late MKO

After Abacha took power, Tinubu first asked to be made civilian administrator of Lagos, then deputy to the military administrator, and when both were turned down he wanted the post of a commissioner. The slot went to an ally of Lateef Jakande, and “once he lost out, automatically, he became a NADECO member.” KOLA ABIOLA In an interview in 2019 published in the SUN Newspaper and republished in several News outlets. Copied.

@SchroedingerImm @Admiral_Cyborg You are saying something unrelated. The crux of the matter is about Tinubu snitching on the late MKO Abiola.

@RealQueenBee__ Epetedo is about a five-minute walk from the street I grew up on. The day of Abiola's declaration remains in my memory forever. I think Senator Wahab Dosumu was there, not Tinubu. Tinubu was a fraud in the movement, but people did not know. He betrayed Abiola 💯.

Where was Tinubu the NADECO Man during "The Epetedo Declaration"? Two men history said stood on both sides of MKO - the Late Bobo Nwosisi and Ralph Obioha. Tinubu the imaginary NADECO Man was busy looking for appointment from Abacha before fleeing to start his Rice business.

@RealQueenBee__ Tinubu was not a member of NADECO when it was formed. He only joined when Abacha did not give him the position of deputy governor of Lagos. He spent his money to influence things when he joined the movement; people later realized he was a snitch in the movement.

@agupard_a The internet is truly a leveling ground that is unprecedented. Many a time, we have heard only of one tribe in Nadeco. Yet Nadeco has always been a coalition of patriotic Nigerians, none better then the other.

Are you aware that Tinubu was not even on Abacha’s list, which was collated by Major Hamza Al-Mustapha and handed over to Sergeant Silas Mshiela, aka Sergeant Rogers, for execution? His going into exile was for self-elevation and to plant himself into the core of NADECO for future political considerations. All of us know what nearly happened to Chief Alex Ibru in the hands of Abacha’s killer squad. But they want us to downgrade the true efforts of nationalists like Chief Ibru and elevate Tinubu for doing nothing. For June 12, we saw Olisa Agbakoba in the street of Lagos with his Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) and how he brazenly took on Abacha and the then military governor, Col. Buba Marwa without fear. We saw the fearless Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Chief Falana, and many others who put their talents and resources to the disposal of the movement. As much as I do not want to reduce everyone's collective efforts, where was Tinubu and his significance at this time? Tinubu became interested in the movement only after Abacha rejected his entreaties to be made a minister and instead chose Chief Lateef Jakande as Minister of Housing. Again, this became the core of Tinubu’s grouse with Jakande. Even as governor, Tinubu took every step to relegate Jakande’s achievements as governor of Lagos State. Folks, Chief Kayode Jakande was the greatest governor Lagos ever had in terms of infrastructure, followed by Fashola in policy.
Ọnụselụọgụ@madonnite

Funsho Williams did not abandon his ambition to become governor after Pa Adesanya appealed to him to step down for Tinubu in December 1998. With Obasanjo as president, Funsho decamped to the PDP. At that point, he became a greater political danger to the Lagos establishment. Meanwhile, Tinubu had already clashed with his deputy, Mrs. Kofo Akerele-Bucknor, a strong force in the AD, and had pushed the House to impeach her. This political misstep angered indigenous Lagosians, who saw Princess Bucknor as a representative of their enlightened interests. The grand scheme was to ensure that no Tinubu protégé would come near Lagos House again, and Funsho Williams was prepared to take up the mantle in 2007. The forces had gathered to sweep Tinubu’s looming influence from Lagos politics, but suddenly, Funsho Williams was murd@d in his Ikoyi residence.

@madonnite Tinubu was a hero to many people, including myself, during the June 12 crisis. Upon returning from exile, he was rewarded with the AD governorship ticket by AD leaders. In reflection, it appears that Tinubu was a snitch during the June 12 struggles.

Many people do not know that Bola Tinubu did not actually win the 1998 AD gubernatorial primaries in Lagos. The primary election was won by Funsho Williams. Following the intervention of Chief Ayo Adebanjo and Chief Abraham Adesanya, who reviewed the results in Tinubu’s favour and resolved disputes arising from Ikorodu and Lagos Mainland, Funsho Williams stepped down for Tinubu.
