Agreed. As much as I don’t like him due to not being a good sonic adaptation, I actually think what he does in a vacuum is done quite well.
The core problem with these movies is to do with how it relates to the source material. By themselves, the movies are good if not great-

I feel like my follower base at this point is split between the Homestuck fandom and the Scott Pilgrim fandom so if you've read one but not the other, give the other one a shot because they've got a lot of crossover appeal. Both authors are fans of each other's work, too
