The purpose of code documentation now is saving on token spendings, otherwise, documentation can be generated on-demand for any code base.

I bet Gemini can do better research than at least 50% of PhD students in the US.

I don't understand the "postdoc" positions in the industry. What are they? Underpaid scientists? They seem to be a bad influence from academia. @AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter

Academic colleagues: If you’re advocating that postdocs are “trainees”, you should back it up by showing where your former postdocs are now employed. If most are not in academia, then you’ve demonstrated that postdocs are cheap labor that make your life (as PI) easier. The end.

How about respecting, and supporting the PhD students' decision to pursue and prepare for a career in the industry? The industry route is still looked down upon, especially in big name institutions. #AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter

@yael_niv @ashleyruba The supply of available positions for which the postdocs are trained is extremely lower than what is implied in academia. That's not true in any other "training" program. In any other field, this discrepancy in supply and demand would be labeled a pyramid scheme at best.

@ashleyruba Not justifying the low salary (and I pay my postdocs somewhat, but not a lot more), but a reminder that a postdoc is still a training position. I don't tell my postdocs what to do, but rather we are driven by what they need and want to do. That's not always the case in industry.

PhD fellowship should be treated as a job with a living wage and benefits. Postdocs should be able to live comfortably, and save for their retirement. This is the only way to keep top talent in academia. Ow, get ready for full privatization of R&D #AcademicTwitter

The train of leaving academia is on full throttle. Everyday I see applicants from all levels, finally realizing that they don't need to sacrifice their mental and financial health to pursue their passion. #AcademicTwitter

After only a few weeks of making this decision I found a great job where I do what I love and I get compensated proportionally. This was one of the best, if not THE best, decisions of my life. If you are miserable in academia, know that it's not your only option. #AcademicChatter

So, I finally realized my mental health worth much more than a PhD. I was in a dark place a few months ago and was ready to end it all but, thanks to a psychiatrist, I regained control and decided to pursue a career in industry and quit my toxic lab. #AcademicChatter #academia

@MaiaGoree96 One morning I walked into his office and told him I'm going to leave the program. I still remember how I felt after I walked out. It was a very strange feeling of relief. Like a 100 ton weight has suddenly been lifted off my shoulders!
