This is just heartbreaking and ridiculous. There’s an 82-year-old lady called Mary in Kent. She’s got health problems and she’s been through enough already. She painted her house blue nothing mad, just a nice blue and now Dover District Council are hounding her to repaint it. They’re demanding she forks out £3,000. Three grand! At 82, with her health the way it is. The mad thing is, there are loads of other houses and buildings round there painted all different colours. It’s clearly not some strict rule they’re enforcing on everyone else. But they’re digging their heels in with her and won’t even sit down and talk to her about it. I just can’t get my head round it. Why are they bullying an elderly woman over the colour of her own house? Especially if you’re in Kent or the Dover area, please help make some noise on this one. Share it, tag Dover District Council, tag your local councillors, email them, whatever it takes. This has to stop. She shouldn’t be stressed out and out of pocket at her age over something so petty. Leave the poor woman alone.
