Being born in Darlington County, SC I grew up hearing about the history of Greenville Pickens Speedway. When I was a student at the SC School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, I used to wonder what it’d be like to catch a race there. Never did get the chance to take one in. But if that place ever comes back to life, I’ll do everything I can to have my butt in a seat.

It’s sports history. It’s a South Carolina landmark. I’m so glad the movement is picking up steam.

Last week while working in the area I took a Lyft to the @JRMotorsports team store and saw the @J_Allgaier @BRANDT_co decal placement guide. With my vision it is kind of like when a camera has not focused yet. I can tell what things are but the details are blurry unless they are very close. I appreciate @DaleJr @EarnhardtKelley and whoever else was involved in making these available. On track this livery looks like bright red with a splash of yellow. Up close I can take my time and see all the details like most anyone else can.

I’ve always heard the quote connected to Linda Ronstadt, but I know Willie told stories and lines like that a lot in interviews and on stage. It wouldn’t surprise me if he said a version of it about Emmylou Harris too. Either way it sounds like one of those classic Willie compliments about someone he really respected.

Working in Charlotte this week I stopped by the @NASCARHall to check out @KurtBusch’s induction exhibit. I have always been a Kurt fan and always will be. It was really cool to see the fire suit he wore for his sixth Bristol win. That race was my last trip to Bristol with my dad and it brought back a lot of great memories from that night at the track.
