UAE's ambassador to the US wrote in the WSJ that "a simple ceasefire isn’t enough" and urged a "conclusive outcome" addressing Iran's nuclear, missile, drone, and proxy threats after Iran hit UAE targets with 2,000+ missiles/drones. UAE has repeatedly said it won't allow its territory/airspace for strikes on Iran and isn't reported joining any ground attack. No such Reuters/WSJ confirmation exists.

Naseer Paktiawal, the brother of Mohammad Nazeer Paktiawal says the 41-year-old Afghan father of six was taken into ICE custody in front of his wife and children as he was preparing to drive them to school — a chaotic arrest that left his kids screaming and asking why their father was being taken away. His family says Paktiawal had spent years fighting alongside American military forces in Afghanistan before being evacuated to the U.S. in 2021. In a statement provided to CBS News, ICE said Paktiawal's legal status expired on Aug. 20, 2025 and that it arrested him after two local arrests on charges of fraud and theft. In a statement, DHS said it "has no record of this individual serving alongside American forces." But Naseer showed CBS News' @camiloreports documents and a badge that he says are evidence that Paktiawal fought alongside U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan.
