Those brownstones in New York are the property of Black people and our history. People’s grandparents and great grandparents came from Georgia and the Carolinas, worked as porters, waitresses, and whatever else they could get, eventually got out from under white man’s debt slavery and secured a home for successive generations of their family, ensuring that none of their line would ever be homeless. These houses are now worth millions of dollars, and they are being stolen by colonizers.

They paused Oversight Committee hearings the minute we started getting answers about the Epstein files. Now it’s “roundtables”: no rules, no oaths, no subpoenas. You do the math. Because the moment accountability shows up, they shut it down. The survivors deserve better.

Detroit People's Food Co-op is a community-owned, Black led grocery store on Woodward Ave in the historical North End neighborhood. The store serves as a neighborhood hub, offering education on food, health, and cooperative owners. 📽️: RawDetroit

@THEKIDMERO They stole my family's brownstone and then sued us when we asserted rightful ownership with the county clerk, producing our 50 year old deed. They had been renting our property for years without our permission! This is rampant in Black New York.

Black New Yorkers survived redlining, kept their homes, and whites are stealing their deeds. Deed theft is a crisis hitting Black homeowners in Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, Harlem and Southeast Queens. White Scammers forge paperwork, slip in deed transfers took generations to build

AFRICAN & BLACK HISTORY
AFRICAN & BLACK HISTORY@AfricanArchives·
Mahatma Gandhi the Racist. While living in South Africa, Mahatma Gandhi described black Africans as “savage,” “raw” and living a life of indolence and nakedness. He routinely expressed "disdain for Africans," and he also campaigned relentlessly to prove to the British rulers that the Indian community in South Africa was superior to native black Africans. One of the first battles Gandhi fought after coming to South Africa was over the separate entrances for whites and blacks at the Durban post office. Gandhi obiected that Indians were "classed with the natives of South Africa," who he called the kaffirs, and demanded a separate entrance for Indians. In a petition letter in 1895, Gandhi also expressed concern that a lower legal standing for Indians would result in degenerating "so much so that from their civilised habits, they would be degraded to the habits of the aboriginal Natives, and a generation hence, between the progeny of the Indians and the Natives, there will be very little difference in habits, and customs and thought."

After 32 years in prison, 74-year-old Mary Jones was declared innocent. I'm crying watching this, the justice system failed her. Justice came… but not without a cost. 💔😢😢

The Trump Administration’s Justice Department has accused the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is best known for investigating hate groups, of unfairly targeting conservative and Christian organizations like the KKK. They are being charged with fraud for paying informants to infiltrate white supremicist groups. It’s obscene how racism is institutionalized in this country.

The Arlington city council has voted in favor of spending $273 million on exterior upgrades to AT&T Stadium despite concerns from residents who have called for a referendum that would let voters decide.  The Cowboys have offered to pay for all the upgrades up front with the city paying them back $50m in 2028 and $20m every year after through 2048
