Security sources said ongoing covert operations were being intensified to track other illegal arms manufacturers and recover weapons proliferated across Plateau State.
The latest discovery comes amid renewed attacks and reprisals in parts of Plateau, particularly in Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Areas, where communities have witnessed recurring violence involving armed groups, militias and criminal elements.
“This one the third armed factory that have been discovered within three weeks,”said the sources.
Security assessments indicate that while attacks in Plateau are often attributed solely to suspected Fulani militias or bandits, several armed groups within local communities, including ethnic Berom militias, have also been implicated in series of attacks, reprisals, attack on mining sites, illegal possession of firearms and violent attacks.
The security sources noted that some militia elements within the Berom communities had been linked to attacks, counter-attacks and the circulation of illicit weapons, further complicating the security situation in the state.
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have in recent weeks intensified raids, patrols and intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling armed networks and restoring stability across Plateau communities.

Troops also recovered 36 empty shells of 7.62mm special ammunition, four revolver engines, 14 recoiling springs, six hand drilling machines, nine filing machines, four welding machines and other tools used for weapon fabrication.
“The operation followed extensive human intelligence activities aimed at identifying arms proliferation networks and illegal weapon manufacturing cells operating within Plateau communities,” a security source said.
The suspects and recovered weapons have been taken into custody at Headquarters OPEP for further investigation.

ADVANCED TRAINING, TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN OPERATIONS CRITICAL TO NIGERIAN ARMY SUCCESS — COAS
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has underscored the critical role of advanced training and technology-driven operations in enhancing the effectiveness of the Nigerian Army in modern warfare. He made this known on Thursday, 7 May 2026, during the closing ceremony of the Combat Arms Training (CAT) Week 2026 held at the Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna.
The week-long programme brought together serving and retired senior officers for strategic engagements, lectures and practical demonstrations aimed at strengthening the Army’s capacity in counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations. It also highlighted the importance of innovation, adaptability and continuous professional development in addressing evolving security challenges.
The event, themed “Building Troops’ Resilience through Counter Terrorism Campaigns,” featured presentations by seasoned resource persons and retired generals. Discussions centred on emerging threats, contemporary warfare dynamics and the need to build resilient, highly skilled forces capable of operating effectively in complex combat environments.
The COAS charged troops to remain resilient, cohesive and combat-ready in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities. He emphasised that while modern equipment remains essential, success in today’s battlespace depends largely on well-trained, disciplined and adaptive personnel.
Lieutenant General Shaibu further highlighted the integration of drone warfare, combat aviation and advanced training methodologies as critical force multipliers for future operations, noting that the Nigerian Army will continue to leverage technology to enhance operational effectiveness.
In his remarks, the Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Godwin Mutkut, commended the COAS for his purposeful leadership, which he noted has significantly improved troop welfare and strengthened operational efficiency across the Nigerian Army.
The training week featured the demonstration of live firepower of the Combat arms of the Nigerian Army featuring various calibres of weapons, armoured vehicles, and advanced combat platforms, as well as a combined Infantry and Armour manoeuvre simulation in a realistic combat environment. The event also featured a symbolic Pulling Out Ceremony in honour of distinguished retired Infantry generals.
The Combat Arms Training Week 2026 reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Army to strengthening professional capacity through advanced training, integrating modern technologies into operations and sustaining momentum in ongoing counterterrorism campaigns nationwide.

If we decide to close down all the things that are poorly structured and underfunded in this country we will no longer have a country. We should not lead with this attitude. Instead let’s clamor for change and with time it will be a win win for everybody.

I still maintain that NYSC, especially for doctors, is very crucial for the health of the nation. Even though it’s poorly structured & funded just like every aspect of this country it should not be scrapped for medics.

If you were smart you'd know that it is false news that the entire country had only 36 million naira for its Health sector. But since your forte isn't reading, you'd keep wallowing in your folly. You think 36 million naira will pay monthly salaries of all Healthcare workers under the government. Over 2 Trillion naira was allocated to the health sector. 218 billion naira was the capital allocation for the Ministry’s Headquarters, not the entire health sector, of which 36 million naira was released as claimed due to stringent policies from the office of the Account General of the Federation, which we all faulted and heavily criticized. I know this information will fly over your head because stupidity is embedded in your genetic code

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, has issued a directive to all Police Commands in Nigeria: all assets entrusted to the Force must be fully accounted for.
During the Emergency Conference at Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP ordered an immediate and comprehensive audit of all arms and ammunition across every Command and formation nationwide.
All firearms and ammunition must be documented, verified, and securely stored.
This is not routine paperwork. The IGP emphasized that this is a critical institutional measure designed to identify operational gaps, prevent misuse of Police assets, and ensure all weapons are properly deployed in line with national security objectives.
Commissioners of Police are required to submit thorough, transparent, and professionally documented reports to Force Headquarters within the stipulated timeframe.
There are no exceptions. Accountability within the Force applies to all personnel, conduct, and every weapon in the institution’s possession.
Under the Force’s leadership, all actions and assets are subject to scrutiny and accountability. Everything will be accounted for.

Armed assailants invaded during the night; by morning, eight suspects were in custody.
On the night of 6 May 2026, armed individuals attacked Rukubi Community, Doma LGA, Nasarawa State, firing weapons, threatening residents, and abducting two people from their homes. By the early hours of 7 May 2026, the Nigeria Police Force had initiated a response.
Nasarawa State Command operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community youths, launched coordinated operations that produced swift and effective results.
Eight suspects arrested: Adamu Alfa. Muhammed Alfa. Shuaibu Alfa. Usman Alfa. Ali Alfa. Isa Alfa. Adamu Alfa. Ja'afaru Alfa.
Recovered items include two AK-47 rifles, four Bajaj motorcycles, and two expended 7.62mm ammunition shells.
One suspect sustained fatal injuries during the encounter and was later confirmed dead. This operation succeeded due to the collaborative efforts consistently advocated by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM: police, military, vigilantes, and the community working together.

According to the blockbuster production, gunmen, know as fulani bandits were supposedly attacking a burial ground in Barkin Ladi.
But somehow, our lead actor had enough time to run more than 2 kilometre away from the scene, hold his phone steadily, arrange his camera angle, control his breathing, avoid sweating, keep his clothes perfectly clean, and then deliver commentary like a seasoned Hollywood narrator.
No panic. No confusion. No dust. No exhausted breathing. Just smooth acting and dramatic shouting for the camera.
Meanwhile, the “attack scene” he claimed to be escaping from was calmly sitting far behind him, Nobody was shot, no injuries, nobody was rushed to the hospital.
Then came the grand finale: upload the video, trigger fire alarm to attract international outrage, and wait for foreign “conflict investors” and professional crisis merchants to amplify the propaganda.
In Plateau these days, some people no longer wait for facts. Once there’s a phone camera, its becomes a fact. No one cares to asked anymore questions.
But unfortunately for the directors of this low-budget propaganda series, facts keep ruining the performance.
Suddenly, the only bandits people saw in the video was a Berom militia holding a pistol.

Troops Neutralise Three Terrorists, Recover Weapons in Zamfara Fighting Patrol

Troops conducting fighting patrols under Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) have neutralised three terrorists and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during an operation in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Sources disclosed on Wednesday that the operation was carried out in the early hours of the day as troops intensified clearance operations against terrorist elements operating within the state.
According to the sources, the troops embarked on the fighting patrol at about 5:30 a.m., covering Birnin Tsaba, Tsanu and Dumburum villages during the operation.
The sources said contact was established with terrorists at Dumburum village, leading to a gun battle between troops and the armed elements.
“During the encounter, troops neutralised three terrorists and recovered several weapons and ammunition,” the sources said.
Items recovered from the operation included one AK-47 rifle, one SK-21 A1 machine gun, one locally fabricated handgun, six AK-47 magazines and one FN rifle magazine.
The troops also recovered 123 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 179 rounds of 12.7 x 108mm ammunition on links and 269 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition.
Military sources added that no casualty was recorded among the troops during the operation.
The sources said troops had continued aggressive patrols and clearance operations across troubled communities to deny terrorists freedom of movement and restore security in the affected areas.
They added that the general security situation within the operational area remained under control, while efforts to track fleeing terrorists were ongoing.
