Nick Saban could write his suggestions about how to fix college sports on the back of a napkin and sign his name to it, and that would be more impactful than today’s Executive Order. The President’s EO is just “sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

It’s final four or bust yet again for the Tennessee Vols. Let’s get some good karma going by naming a random Tennessee Vol basketball player from your childhood. I’ll start. Doug. Roth!

Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament the last four years: * 2023 - Sweet 16 * 2024 - Elite 8 * 2025 - Elite 8 * 2026 - Sweet 16 Rick Barnes - most under-appreciated coach in the sport. Not a bad run for a guy they said "couldn't win in March."🍊🍊

Super intrigued by Blake Grimmer both leading off and at second base. I think Grimmer leading off was a possibility in the preseason. If he can play second, it unlocks a whole new level of lineup options for Josh Elander.

Tennessee baseball's lineup against Missouri on Saturday 1. Blake Grimmer 2B 2. Henry Ford 3B 3. Blaine Brown LF 4. Reese Chapman RF 5. Manny Marin SS 6. Garrett Wright CF 7. Stone Lawless C 8. Trent Grindlinger DH 9. Levi Clark 1B P Landon Mack

Tennessee’s staff did a great job scouting Miami’s stuff today. They were really well prepared.

A “golden” performance by Vanderbilt today. Commodores shooting the Gators right out of Bridgestone Arena. More you watch this Vanderbilt team play, the more you like its chances of making a deep run in the NCAA tournament. Commodores 10 of 19 from 3 and lead by 25 points.

Vanderbilt and Tennessee have both done a great job of making things tough on their clear top defensive priorities (Nate Ament and Tyler Nickel). This might come down to which one of them shakes it off and hits a couple late shots.

Notwithstanding this indisputable evidence, the NCAA suggests Trinidad Chambliss’s doctor was lying to help him get a waiver and that his waiver request was recently contrived by Ole Miss. Maybe it’s time for the NCAA to reconsider its position.

Tom Mars@TomMarsLaw

Serious question: why would Trinidad Chambliss have said in Dec. 2024 he “had a medical redshirt” in 2022 unless he had been told so by Ferris State’s staff, who must have then believed (before he transferred) that Trinidad’s lengthy illness prevented him from playing in 2022-23?

The NCAA has adopted emergency legislation specifying DI athletes can lose eligibility if NIL deals aren’t reported. If a school discovers an athlete may not have reported a deal it has 2 days to review & report to the CSC. If a deal isn’t then reported, athlete is ineligible.

He used the Pavia rule to play this season. I honestly don't know if he could use it again. He did spend two years at juco, but I honestly have no idea what the rule is there. And I'm not sure anything means anything anymore. G-League vets are playing college basketball now.
Jimmy Stone@JimmyStone7981

@wesruckerTBA @wesruckerTBA could Joey get the Pavia rule and play next year? I know it’s floating around.

@JabautTim @wesruckerTBA No NCAA lost appeal because it had voluntarily granted Pavia the relief he sought with the injunction when it issued the blanket waiver. NCAA can still challenge Pavia’s claim and is doing so.

@JChadHatmaker @wesruckerTBA But the NCAA's appeal was thrown out of court. So wouldn't one assume that their stance again is rendered moot unless another appeal by them is granted?
